Luckily I ordered two boards. As soon as I typed that last message, I hurried and took the S7 back apart. Replaced the board again and all is well. I also had forgotten that the buttons were backlit which did not work on either.
Either way, it's good. I need to do a reset on it then hand it over. She has a J3 right now which is about the equivalent of an S2.
EDIT: Inside the S7. That tiny board on the bottom is the charger board.... also runs the bottom buttons and the headphone jack. I found it weird how the speaker worked. It projects out on that triangular screen/cloth thingy a little left of the charge port.
I had the same phone and same issue. Broken screen. I then upgraded to my note 9 and gave my old s7 to my boy. He is 9 years old, uses it for freakin YouTube, lol.
The screen isn't to bad, and wont cut his finger as he uses it.
I just dont understand what the fascination is watching other people play video games???
That truck is a real beauty Maple. Looking at those pics reminded me that the struggle is real.... my OCD brain hates that EVERY one of these manual shift boots indents like that. Drives me nuts!

If your PO installed a body lift and didn't lengthen the shifter arm, then you don't have to worry about it
Hey, White, how bad price-wise was the screen? I have an S7 Edge that shattered (sha-doobie) from an 8" drop. Fell flat face down onto tile. I'm seeing them for about $110 on eBay, but being that @#&* curved-edge screen, I'll bet the R&R is a bit more involved.
Doesn't surprise me that they get more for the Edge version, being shaped as it is. Or, maybe it's a supply/demand thing. I'd assume lots more Edges get broken. It's a pretty design, but gets an "F" from me for durability. Still, I might look at some YT videos on the replacement procedure.
I should have mentioned that I originally bought an aftermarket screen for it on Ebay for about 50 dollars. I did not know it was aftermarket because the screen had the Samsung logo on it. It felt flimsy as hell. And it broke installing it... with the SLIGHTEST pressure. All I was doing was pressing down the adhesive to the frame, and it snapped.
My Buddy repairs phones on the side, and I talked to him last night. He agrees, the S7 is the hardest phone to replace the screen on. The arrows are where the ribbon cables for the buttons are. Those go around to the front of the phone. There is adhesive that sticks it to the frame AND the back of the screen. Under very slight pressure they will break apart. Samsung should have reinforced them, or they should be packaged with a screen purchase.
