I know that if my Buddy builds a Cummins with a 42/46RE or an A518/618, he ALWAYS removes the check valve.
White, I got that and documented the info in case of any possible future value or use but what caught my interest about this particular article was the relationship with cold weather and the associated problems listed limited to the cold. JMO but problems associated with such a specific issue at a rate of 40% and never having heard of it just seemed unusual.

EDIT: Maybe a failing of mine but I usually separate diesels from gas engines.

Doesn't really matter what the motor is, it is transmission failure you're questioning. Your Wordpress article didn't mention motors either.

Yes sir, that's why I added it's probably a failing of mine.

I've had my bank accounts for 50 years and my local bank was recently bought out by a national bank and what a mess. My utility bills were just paid 4 times and they're upset that I let them know I don't think fixing this for them is my responsibility, job or problem. Along with other problems that keep coming up I wish now I had cancelled my accounts and moved to another bank before this ownership change. Fair warning!

Do I upgrade to the super cooling radiator or leave the stock one in my Highboy?

Wondering if I should save the super cooling for the future farm truck that will be getting a flatbed and gooseneck?

LOL! Actually yes and no. I've learned a lot about banks recently. It isn't Wells Fargo and WF doesn't own them but WF is under contract to this bank to handle what they call, "Merchant Services." Merchant Services takes care of things like credit cards and automated billing and bill payments. You can run, but you can't hide.

2100.... when it comes to the cooling systems, I'd go big on both. I know it costs more, but as I recall, those trucks like a big cooling system.

My sister ran her business through WF. Constant auto-draft without any permission or warnings. My neighbor just had them pay off her car from her business account.... and they are supposed to be separate monies.

I hate banks.... with a passion. I use credit unions only, except my mortgage - because I have no choice.

Well right now it won't cost me anything cz I've got the super cooling radiator. It'll be an expense when I get the farm truck cz I'll have to source one. But yeah didn't want to go large and "waste" the bigger radiator on the FE block if it didn't really need it. That was my original thought tho... if I have it, and it's more cooling... why not? lol
