LOL... don't tempt me, Brew.

The pump came a day early, so I tackled that last night instead of today.... I had no idea it was leaking!

I think I would have told this dude "Sorry, you're on your own". What a nightmare.

That damn kid was texting that hit him at the end....

I just looked this up. 1.4 million accidents a year related to cell phone use. 430 deaths last year in VA alone. Another 550 to pedestrians and bicyclists from drivers on cell phones. As a country we're in "nuts" mode over opioids yet in a New England Journal of Medicine study they could not find a single opioid death related to the legal use of opioids. Most deaths, even while already involving illegal use, could be predicated on excessive alcohol more than opioids. Just my opinion but it seems we often go off the rail with misguided intentions. The road to hell is paved with good intentions is an apt proverb about cell phones and driving.

As far as predicaments go, that one turned out very well.

I recall crossing a frozen swamp on 40's, began busting through one wheel at a time. One would bust through, then I'd crawl out, then another, then another... I don't know how I made it out of that situation, it was a pretty long stretch and slow goin.

Minor damage, - ripped the breather off the rear axle and poisoned the gear oil. Thought for sure I was goin under lol.

Went to the U-Pull and Pay this afternoon, since they had five new Expeditions there. Only one had a gray interior, and the console was shot. Oh, well. Another $2 down the drain.

I did see two 150's with remote-mount oil filters, though, and might go back to snag one (or both if they're worth anything). Can one of you learned gents tell me how to get the adapter off the block? And is there anything I need to consider in the way of compatibility with my '03 5.4?

Annnnd on another note, it looks like I'll be buying a replacement 'puter sooner rather than later. This one was Tango Uniform this morning. Probably the power supply. Oh, well.

If I remember right you live over off of Lake Michigan? Here on Erie whenever the lake freezes over, which is rare now, there are always a couple of ice fishing yahoos that drive out on the ice and go through. The EPA has a flat $10k fine for international waters environmental damage and the state has a flat $2k fee they charge the tow operators to pull the vehicle from the lake. On top of this there are various local fines to pay. Then there's the diver which has to be a state licensed selvage diver to be paid to hook the tow vehicle up and then there's the needed tow vehicle to pay for. Towing something in from a half a mile out takes more than the typical dually. They even get you for not having an off road permit if you don't have one. Then there's the embarrassment. It's just not worth the risk.

Default Oil filter relocation setup

Wow! Is it really this much work to R&R the relo kit? If so, I might just keep the filter where it is. It's not *that* hard to get to. Or... Is it actually worth it?
