Thinking
That is hilarious as hell. Of course it would be funnier to watch that bumper get yanked off the truck when it pulls something slightly heavy or up a hill. That would be worth a YouTube video. LOL
Just my opinion but being kind, that's horrendous. It would be easy to be unkind. The sine of 90 degrees is 1. Multiply that by approximately 12 for 1 foot and the force multiplier on the bumper is an even 12. The bending moment is the same. The bumper is carrying 12 times the tongue weight. Assuming the tongue weight is 100 lbs, it's now 1,200 lbs. The force multiple requires a dependent variable for an acceleration X 12 on the tongue to estimate a total, 1,200 x (9.8x mps x 12), but I think everyone gets the picture. The weight on the trucks rear tires in a turn is the same plus being multiplied by the cosine of the turns bank angle and speed. Not all sprung weight is created equal outside of the 4 tires. LOL

Well, if my Broncos have another showing like they did on MNF, I think I'll hit my head against the wall. They were no better than last year. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb were nowhere to be found.... I don't think they even had a hurry, let alone a sack. Meanwhile, the LB we let go in free agency (Shaq Barrett) had THREE sacks on TNF.
The tongue weight on the bumper is actually *decreased* since the distance from the wheels (the pivot point) to the bumper is longer. The torsional force, though, on the bumper is much greater than it is designed for, significantly reducing its load-bearing capacity.
Any way you slice it, if the guy is pulling much more than a utility cart, he's asking for trouble.
That said, I'd love to see the video when he hooks up a TT and cranks up the tounge jack.

EDIT: Again, I don't mean to get odd but I looked up tongue weight to make sure I'm not forgetting something and everything says tongue weight is the weight at the coupling point. The coupling point is the point where the trailer tongue pivots for turning. Tongue weight and tongue length can definitely effect weight distribution to the axles. Semi's do this everyday but that's all about rolling weight distribution which is all about suspension and doesn't have any effect on the static measurement of tongue weight without redistributing the trailer load. Actually I guess you could say that in the picture there is a tongue coupling to a tongue.

Can't quit on a winning team.
Not on this day anyway!Lions fans will momentarily turn their back to Tim Allen. Besides, Tim Allen is known for being reckless.

Why do so many people leave out where they're from. I don't mean addresses but states might help. I have a bunch of new, oem parts for the 4.2 I'm willing to give away to someone in need but god only knows where people are at! I have parts like 2 new, box never opened passenger side heads and oem headers never offered for cars and trucks, from Ford Power Div. 3 more new but out of the box because they've been blueprinted. I can help with a good deal on drivers side if needed. I have no use for them and I've never ran into anyone around here interested in 4.2 parts. I got them from a shop that went out of business because the owner retired and his kids weren't interested in the business. I took the parts off the guys hands for about 3 cents on the dollar. If you know of anyone. . .
