I have a swing that I need to find a home for... I might get a cover for it on Amazon.

Yea, we didn't bother to look one up on line. Probably could of found a larger one. We seen it while shopping for other things, impulse buy lol.. It covers the table and 4 chairs with just the very bottom of legs showing. Good material though and it wasn't bad in price.

Yea, you just have to watch the material. There's some really junk covers out there that won't last much more than a season, if that. Sometimes it's hard to tell by the picture. Amazon reviews would really help for sure.

First, I must say:
That is great, White! I needed that.

Last evening, I took the door panel off to lubricate the driver's side door lock, because it wasn't popping all the way up in cold weather. While I was at it, I thought I'd toss in the new keypad door handle. Yeah, right. Just toss it in.

First, I broke the cap off the modded Christmas-tree fastener I'd fashioned as a lock plug, leaving the broken part in the key cylinder. (I'd pried it from the side rather than top or bottom.)

That should've been my sign to just stop right there. I got it out without any real trouble, though, so I moved on to the R&R. The rearward nut on the handle was a PITA to remove, (I don't recall it being that hard to get to when I pulled it from the donor SCAB.) Long story short, I got to R&R the $%&# thing twice. The new handle ended up hitting the window guide when operated, so I had to remove it and mod it a bit.

After all that, I remembered I had to re-route the cable *outside* of the window channel, not inside, (finally) found the hole in the top of the door to hold the harness up, and realized the plug no longer could attach to it's original spot on the door above the speaker, so I just adhered it to the inside of the door skin instead.

It works and looks great!.... And now I don't even know if I want to keep the friggin' thing! One of the reasons I tinted my windows was so people couldn't see what's in the truck, especially at night. Now, all a prospective bad guy needs to do is press a button on the keypad, and the inside lights up like daylight so an accurate inventory can be taken. I've also determined it's unlikely I'll be able to disarm my factory alarm with the keypad without some ingenuity involving some diodes, a relay, and a $pare remote fob.

I know some of you work with computers or computer related systems and I'm curious about how much training you have to go through to keep up with changes in the industry? I'm asking because I saw this morning on one of the business news networks an item about what it takes to become and to stay a certified technician with some of the companies in the business. It was said that for some companies the amount of ongoing training can be as much as 25% to 50% of a technicians time working for the places. This is because of the speed of changes and because of constant updating caused by security challanges. Do you guys go through this much constant training or was this about something different from what you do?

Sometimes the more things change the more they remain the same. To quote the Who, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Well, I will say this.... back in March (I think) I was enrolled in the Cisco Networking program. In July I was about 40% through the course, and they yanked the rug from under me. They are completely revamping the whole program in February of 2020, basically rendering any of the current certs as useless. So, with all of my home projects going on, I stopped going. And now I am reconsidering just switching to the Microsoft MSE instead.

I don't know what those figures represent when it says "training" though. I learn something new, on nearly a daily basis. Usually, it's something I stumble on or research. Nothing formal, usually.

EDIT: Internet spying bastards??? Look at the time stamp on this post, and compare to the snip of this email.
