Funny thing..... I didn't realize the the SBF has a bigger snout than the modulars. I went to turn the crank on my 351, and my crank socket is too small. Had to order a socket for a SBF.

I thought the modulars were a tad bigger, and could still be used on a SBF. Oh well.... the things you learn in battle.

The SBF has a snout of 1.375" (1 3/8") and the Modulars are 1.255" (32mm).

It is just barely too small to fit. I am betting the SBF socket will turn a Modular, but not vice versa (provided the woodruff key is the correct size).

Isn't that the same in standard for the CV/ hub bearing nuts on the front of the 150? Well, I think it fit there as well.

Actually, I think there' two sizes of hub nuts up front.

It might be.... didn't think to try that. I usually use the sockets like these that are round.....

Hey Brew, I have seen a few threads where you have mentioned and have shown your intake set up. That looks quite nice. The previous owner of my truck put a K&N on it so I was thinking I might try to combine the K&N composite intake tube with the stock airbox and GOTTS, similar to what you did. I'm wondering if you think that would work and what air filter element you might recommend? I think you used to use an Amsoil but I believe those can no longer be purchased. I would appreciate any wisdom you might want to pass my way or even a link to a write up if that is out there? I looked but can only find broken links at this time.

Quite honestly, the Motorcraft filters are about the best thing you'll find now.

Shows the modified parts.

Yea that will work, it's what I did, except I used a Volant tube. No Amsoil filters anymore. Think the 98 has a WIX now. WIX or Motorcraft, can't go wrong.

Yeah... WIX is top shelf too. Good stuff for sure.

The O'Reilly MasterPro brand is made by WIX, BTW.
