2100.... My personal preference is Samsung. I really dig their clear motion. But for the money, Vizio is hard to beat. We have a 65" Vizio at work and it's got a great picture. Also have a 65" RCA, and the difference is drastic in the quality. We have three 55" LG's that have a decent pic, but the Samsung and Vizios are much clearer.

Saw a Vizio 55 Class D for about 400 bucks at Walmart a couple weeks ago, and it looked really nice. Those are 4K's too.

If you can afford it, this is a bad boy....

https://www.walmart.com/ip/SAMSUNG-5...odel/556391094

But Samsung does have some in the 400 dollar range too:

This is the Vizio that I saw for 400:

Thanks, I was thinking LG or Samsung would be my best choice. I've heard good things about Vizio but didn't know if they were reputable enough. Yeah seeing the 72" OLED in Samsung was mind blowing... clearer than real life LOL. Yeah sadly $1300 is above the price range. Wife doesn't want to spend a ton of money, and also doesn't want anything bigger than 55"; which I actually talked her up from 50". Said it looked more proportional. We watch a good bit of tv yet she still doesn't want to spend money on a good tv, maybe she thinks that'll change us into couch potatoes. Currently rocking out on a 32" Dynex tv I had in college in 2009 LOL.

Also thanks for the links

I used to have a 720P 37" Dynex.... gave it to my SIL and BIL, and they wore it out, LOL. It was a good TV at the time - probably in the 2009-2010 era too. They were OK for the money.... think I paid 300 or so for it. Comparatively speaking to what you can get for 300 today though, it sucked, LOL.

Curious... have you ever had to replace the fuse in that Dynex? They were notorious for popping a fuse when there was a power outage.

Nope, I've had a handful of power outages in the last 10yrs but it's always been plugged into a surge protector, no fuse issues. Speakers are scratchy at loud volumes but I have a surround sound unit so I disconnected the internal ones anyway.

I've been trying to convince the wife newer TVs are so much better... she's finally come around. Yeah $300-$400 now a days blows TVs out of the water 10yrs ago... its crazy!

The price/performance/features ratio is insane today. I have a 1080p 60" Samsung we bought 5+ years ago. We don't use it nearly enough. Instead of going downstairs to the family room (which is usually a bit cool in the winter), we'll pull up Netflix, etc. on a laptop, and set it on the coffee table upstairs. There is absolutely no justifiable reason to replace it at this point, though I do wish I'd gotten a 65". It would have filled the space better. Unfortunately, at that time, there was a pretty healthy bump in price between the two.

Yeah.... my 55 will grow on the next upgrade. I won it though, so I won't complain about the size. It was a 1500 dollar TV six years ago.

I tell yuh, the Vizio 55" I purchased back in 2012/13 is still going strong. We have it in the bedroom now. It's not 4K, but has a few bells and whistles, 3D for one but we never really use that feature, still have the box of glasses it came with lol. It was in the $1300 price range back then. Really the only downfall, not that big of a deal, there isn't any updates for it which are suppose to occur automatically. The connectivity/interface seems top be lacking on occasion. It's not a provider/speed issue. So we run connectivity through a Samsung 3D blue ray player interface to get the speed and very little drop issues. The player is also a higher end unit and updates every so often.

As they get older they slack more and more on support. Fortunately, that Vizio still has a beautiful picture. It's worth monkeying with and does fine paring with newer media devices.

The travel trailer came with the cheapest 40" I've seen...ever! It's a TCR (Total Crap Reflector). Yea, dumbest TV out there. I ran it off laptop at first, it was okay I guess. Paired it with a Sony media player and it sucked, it would briefly freeze frame every 5 seconds lol. I had a 5 year old Sony blue ray player collecting dust, tried that with it for something more stationary. Works good enough, but you have to stream in zoom to get a full picture lol. But yea, good enough for the trailer, doesn't get much use.

The newer Vizio 65" is 4K, not even a year old yet and that has a killer picture and everything works flawlessly...really like that one, but yea, it's new. I own a old Sony, I think it's a 26". Purchased back in 03 with HDMI. That little guy was a grand back then and it has some weight to it. Never had a problem it and it has a great little picture as well. Haven't a use for it yet...it's so tiny (lol), it's back the original box on the shelf.

Anyway, I will vouch for or stick with the Vizio brand, they've been good for the most part. I've always spent more cash on a big screen than intended, or wasn't afraid too after a bit of research. You get your moneys worth IMO.
