In receipt of a Samsung V-Nand SSD 850 EVO. Sunday delivery from Amazon. This is to replace another SSD that went south in a strange way. First time dealing with a bad SSD for someone. Of course, this person did not set up incremental back-ups or restore points.

Best case scenario, clone with Acronis and all goes well. Haha, well, I could usually do that with a bad mechanical drive w/dead sectors, but an SSD ?

Fortunately I cloned this system in the past, but it was long ago. Guess I'm hoping I don't have to dig that old one out lol. We'll see.

EDIT: Actually, first I'll try using the software that came with the new SSD, -then Acronis. I've already cleaned and stripped the old SSD of crap and viruses, just one virus showed up, had a "Backdoor Virus" but wasn't the problem AFAIK.

Haha, -it was a total fail lol. I'll have to look around for the back up I made 3 or 4 years ago. Think it's on one of the older big brick HD's packed away somewhere. Other than that, dey are shii out of luck. It's family, still, as much you preach to back up your stuff up, they still don't listen.

Cool, and still going strong!

Mine is rounding 350,000 miles. It's been sitting at my daughters place, haven't been driving it. My kid is driving it today, her car is stuck in the driveway (I gotta get out there and plow the snow). Anyway, she broomed 7" of snow of it (it was -5 this morning) and fired the truck up and took it to work.

BTW fellas, she checked the water in the trailer and it looks like my insulation has worked so far. Water still flows. I imagine it's going through the propane though lol. I'm heading out there to check all that and jump on the tractor for a bit. Last time it froze it got down to 9*....so, much improved. It's going to be in the neg digits all week though, a good test.
