I picked up a 4v 5.4 for $50. So that's another thing added to the list.
You need both PCMs to run 4x4 and A/C? I thought they were under the GEM.

It seems like building a same gen Modular would almost always have a better Hp/$ ratio. I can't imagine the idea of "being different" a worthwhile reason unless it was a massive Hp or high end show build.

Why couldn't you use a similar model coyote trans? Or you could use a trans controller like @ibd2328. Sounds like a lot of extra headaches if you ask me. Just build the 2V & slap a blower on it. I promise you won't be disappointed.

he was wanting to be different and stand out with it as being the first person to swap a coyote into our generation of trucks, so that's where the coyote comes in haha. personally I think it would be badass and the enjoyment had with the truck once completed would make it worth it in the end.

it does kind of seem like everyone is swapping lightning top ends or motors completely in their trucks now, it's not as uncommon of a sight as it used to be.

The stock 4R70W bolts to the 5.0 so I would save a bunch of headaches trying to mount something else. I'll have to run a controller regardless.

For a pretty similar dollar price I'd be getting a naturally aspirated engine that puts out the same amount of power, and should still get halfway decent fuel mileage. And then later on I could add boost if I wanted to and make a lot more power.
