Oh ok then I did listen to your post lol sorry it's hard to read post on a phone while you are pissed at your truck. So yes it went well after I dropped the sway bar. So now can the end be changed on the screen on the oil tube. I want to change it if not as I found lots of tiny specs at the screen. Or I can flush it out aguess. Thx

Loosen it from the block an remove it with the pump by turning the pump slightly when loose pulling the pump toward you.

Yeah, it's easy to get pissed at these trucks. They are not easy to work on...FYI, the ford racing pump I linked comes with a new pick-up tube, and the pump is high volume with a billet steel backing plate.

Did I read this earlier post correctly?

@BlueOval Andy is without a doubt the most avid Livernois supporter on the internet. I agree it's a good read. Page 11 has several of the OBDII scanner screenshots from my research into VCT operation. I posted them to give readers some reference as to how large a percentage of engine operating conditions the VCT system is retarding cams. ALL of which is defeated by 100% by Livernois lockouts locking the CAMS at full advance.

We know the VCT help with the emissions when you let off of the gas and when you are in the higher RPM ranges and help with better performance in those higher RPM ranges. That alone does not a camshaft make. The three valve engine is, on its own, a better breathing motor than a 2 valve engine. Blue oval went his own direction with what he wanted and believed the truck would use best for him. He also went with metal timing chain guides rather than the plastic type ones after learning the hard way about those pesky plastic type.. One day he may privately sell the truck to another owner who wants the same things for the same reasons.

Modular Motorsports Racing has billet aluminum race spec chain guides for the 5.4 3V engine ->>> part numbers 543295A and 543295B
Also check the supplier of your parts as some offer metal tensioners with their kit. ie. Cloyes is one.

Well I ordered all my parts and did some cleaning of other parts I gotta re use. The one thing I do want people to know is if any of your chain guides break, buy a new pick up tube, or clean real good as this is what still came out when I tapped it on floor

From pick up tube screen

So what kind of cleaner can I use on the front of block and all aluminum parts to make it look new and great looking. I will be getting a new oil pan plug leaks and crank bolt. The new phasers already come with new ones,
I also went wit the ford racing oil pump.
