I'd say either one will fit your truck fine. As far as which is better --- ??? I had a ton of trouble sorting out facts from BS about High Volume models / racing models / high pressure models when I was struggling with that question. Even talked to a rep at Melling without really learning anything useful. But I settled on the 10340 - and am totally happy. Before rebuild - hot idle oil pressure on 5w20 oil WAS 14-16 lbs. After rebuild - hot idle on 5w20 is 24-27 lbs.

I switched to 5w30 - basically because my truck is at 220,000 miles. Hot idle, in gear, A/C on with 5w30 runs 26-28 lbs. At cruse speeds (50-70 mph) it maintains 60-75 lbs at full running temp. I think the pressure relief valve relieves at 90 lbs. That's where it idles when full cold on morning startup for about three to five minutes, and it will reach that full hot if I floorboard her and rap it up to 5,000 - 5400 rpm before it shifts! The ole truck will still haul ***.

You've got 2300 views on this thread. A little more specifics should almost certainly get you an answer. Mine's a 2x2 so I can't be any help.

I can't seem to get the bolt out of the drivers side to drop axle down. Can I drop down the round arm that goes accross rear of the oil pan instead. Thx

For full disclosure - I've never done it. But looking at photo #6 of the site I linked in post #58 above, it looks to me like it would be a function of not having weight of things equalized with your supporting jack. ??? hopefully.

Hope you have jack stands for your own safety under there!!!!

Oh yes jack stands for sure. Well guys got pan out and found rest of my pieces inside pan. I also found a easier way to get out pan for me anyways. I will be cleaning parts and going through list. What a job and wish no one has to go though this, or find buddy with a lift. But I got it.

Very sluggy

Oh yes I did but that bolt next to steering pump was giving me greef and could not get out. Don't mean to upset anyone here. Just in my case I had to drop other back part to get it out is all. The rest went as planned with your detailed post. Thanks for all the great advice as I appreciate it all.

What I was trying to tell you is that you don't need to drop the driver's side down, only the passenger. Also, the 'other back part', the 'round arm' is the sway bar that I mentioned to you to drop down. No-one's upset, it's all good. We're all here to help each other, just trying to share our experiences
