Well its been just over a week. The pvc squeaked. So I cut the pvc shorter put the factory accordion piece back in and used one of the hose clamps off the plumbing coupler. The torque of the motor, rocking of the truck from reving, and turning was pulling the pvc loose. It's been 3 days with the factory accordion and no squeaking. I think I'm in the clear now.

Neil,

Great job on mod and photos too. Can you make the whole in the fender well larger and go from there?

I was a little skeptical at first did my Gott Mod today and cleaned the MAF, my neighbor stopped by saw me with the dremel tool shaping that schedule 40 and I mentioned something about sewer pipe he brought me a section I cut 5 1/4 piece off had it back on the truck in 5 minutes. Hooked the negative up and cranked her up the rpm shot up to about 1,500 and calmed down after three or four seconds and I took her for a spin. I must say I was impressed it never drove better. I'm still thinking about a cold air intake should boost it a hair more.

I must say the only complaint I have is with the engineer who could have made the MAF connection lead 1/2 inch longer. Did not think I would ever get it back connected

I just did the mod and unfortunately it looks like I'm gonna have to go this route too. The squeak is just too much to deal with

Anyone else get a hollow whistle sound out of theirs on a cold start?

For those of you with the squeak: shave the top and bottom of the pipe down so it has an oval shape, then jam it in the hole with some hammer taps. Then us some silicone around the pipe. This shut mine right up

Benny - I'll have to try this, I have some silicone laying around from doing my headlights. Thanks for the tip!
