Nope. Mine stays put.

And yes, that's not PVC, it's Spectre ducting. Cheap, effective, looks great, stays put.

My 07 was in a head on collision biased to the drive side, it was still in there. The mechanic that worked on it thought I got ripped off by another mechanic, while he was trying to fix the truck.

Nope, the hole was a little tight for the PVC pipe i placed in it. I used the side of my small sledge hammer to "gently" place it in. It aint going nowhere. I then used the rubber flex gasket to connect to the box.

Mine is siliconed in. I didn't have a sander when I did the mod like 8 years ago.

Default Gott's mod

Hi all, did the mod today on my '07 XLT 4X4 5.4L using only the Spectre 8741 hose. I found that heating the rubber ends with my heat gun on low enabled me to screw the rubber ends onto the Spectre accordion hose very easily. I did remove both OEM end pieces, fender wall and accordion. Just an FYI, hope this helps.

If I'm duplicating my own post, I apologize in advance.
I did the gotts mod on a 2000 V6 4x2 shortbed pickup with the crappy manual trans. it made no difference in power or mileage whatsoever.
While I'm on the subject, I've noticed a great many CAI installs people post pictures of are pulling in air from the hot engine compartment, so I don't see what "cold" air they pull in.
Second, nobody anywhere has ever been able to explicitly state what the temperature drop is their product produces.
After an endless amount of nagging, K&N finally sent me a dyno chart for their product. It produced aprox 11 HP and 11 Ft-lbs at just over 4000 RPM. I don't know about you, but I don't spend a lot of time over 4000 RPM on the way to work.

I am cheapskate and bought some of this. I won't need 8ft. If anyone wants some shipped to them at cost, send me a message!
