Just did my second Gotts mod. For both trucks I just used 3 1/2" OD ABS (black drain pipe). Cut it to length, chamfered the ends, heated the fender end over the gas stove until it was soft enough to form into an oval, and heated it again so it was soft when inserting into the fender cutout. Then I slipped the other end into the factory accordion fitting, no adapters or hose clamps necessary. Since I had the pipe on hand from an earlier plumbing project, the cost to me was zero!

In both cases the net effect was pure placebo. No change in performance, mileage, or sound. But I feel better knowing it's there!

Did the Spectre tubing install.
Went the local Auto Zone and asked about the Spectre tube.
The manager asked if I'd take the chrome one? He just wanted to get it out of stock. He noticed my Air Force veteran plates on my truck and
he said since you are a vet I'll give it to you for $10!!!
SOLD!!!

Did the mod for 2 trucks a couple weeks ago. Never noticed much improvement from either. I dont understand why they didnt do it like that from the factory. I took out the existing rubber piece and used a 3 inch coupler to tie them together and I think it looks a whole lot cleaner!

Not sure what you are talking about. Maybe a picture or a little more explanation what you are talking about.

Nothing, that lets any little bit of water drain out and prevent condensation from forming.

Alrighty guys. Im going to try this tomorrow when my truck get back from the brake shop. But noone has really answered a question that a previous poster asked. If you increase the size of the hole in the fenderwell, can you use a larger size hose and increase the airflow even more or is this even possible or recommended?

I would think it wouldn't help because I think the inlet for the air going into the engine isn't bigger than the stock hose. Think about it like this, the part of the intake that has smallest diameter is the most air that can be let into the engine. So if the inlet going to the engine is the smallest diameter than that's the largest amount of air you can have.

Hope this makes sense.
