So you didn't need a piece of PVC pipe? I've read the Gotts mod post and am going to do it. It seems your way is better if no PVC grinding is necessary, just might cost a few bucks more.

Did the Gotts mod today with the fernco and spectre hose. Took about 15 minutes. Thanks chucktruck - the spectre hose made this mod very simple. Pics are from my 06 5.4l
