I'm gonna say ur problem is a vacuum leak. Had the same problem with mine, wouldn't idle but when given it gas was fine. Since u said somthin about changing the vacuum box sounds like u didn't hook somthin back up or pulled somthin loose

Folks, have been looking and searching for answers. I haven't really found what I was looking for. I have an 07 5.4 4x4 XLT and wonder if anyone has found out if there is any benefit to doing the mod to my baby?? Yay or nay. Thanks

Everyone clams that they can feel a difference, but to be honest I cant tell a huge difference, In theory it makes sense and that why I did it. But as farr as actual results it is gonna vary between trucks and I doubt that anyone is gonna pay to dyno there truck before and after just this mod. I figured that for all of $10s hell who not. I have not had any problems with mine and it took less than an hour. Go for it

Basically all i felt was a little more throttle response but got use it it after a few days. Maybe a little better in the mpg range also. Its really cheap so if you dont like it you can always buy an aftermarket CAI or even set it back to stock.

2" pipe to 3" pipe. Another poster said that this was just theory. Makes sense but I have no dyno tests either. Retains factory maf location which is good. Less than $6 for me. Why not? Took more time to collect all of my tools and put them back than it took to do the actual mod. Clean the maf (with maf cleaner), change the air filter, and calibrate the drive by wire throttle. You will notice some change in throttle response. I could care about wide open throttle, unless I go to pass someone. Driving habits are where you gain the most mpg. Oh, I could add to this thread from 2009 that I shaped my pvc to fit the fender opening with an angle grinder.
