Yeah the spectre hose is brand name. The fernco you should be able to get it at your local hardware store.

The 3" spectre hose fits right into the fender with no cutting or grinding. The factory hose has only an 1.5" opening.

I have the 5.4 also. How long a piece of 3" diameter spectre hose will I need?

It's prefab exhaust flex hose. It only comes in one length. It's like $20 at autozone.

It's a rubber reducer used for PVC pipe applications. There's a how to section on this forum that gives you step by step instructions complete with pictures.
