I downloaded the latest last night, just loaded it this afternoon. No issues at all - though this thread made me nervous. It said it successfully loaded Gen2 - V3.7.
After seeing some people in the other big Sync thread saying they had success with the most recent, refreshed download off syncmyride.com I also downloaded a fresh file and it installed in my 2013 F150 with no issues.

Were you or anyone else able to upload the confirmation file? I haven't been able too, Ford website has an error (JS console log shows fileupload is not a function. Not that I expect their Web Devs to do any better than their Sync devs)

In the smaller one I didn't have to change anything (some others reportedly have with Ford Fusions), in the larger one there are too many Windows 5.8 mobile lines (you'll see them if you open the file with Notepad) delete everything above the last one of those, make sure when you unzipped that all of the .cab files were copied. Do all of the above at your own risk, if you brick your Sync it's not on me.
It worked for me. This is the great thing about this forum and Reddit. People from all over figured out different things that worked. Thank you to everyone that posted tidbits of info I was able to use to figure this out. Zero thanks go to FordIVTteam, suggesting to someone that has already downloaded the update to check for an update? Really?
I did this and it worked! For a couple minutes I thought I bricked it but then it started working again. It even created the right file to upload back to the ford owners site.
Like all of you I went through a lot of frustrations with this update. First the site would not let me download it and I must've clicked on the "Request Download" button a million times... I called them, they said 4.4 was buggy and they were going to release a new one soon. Mind you, these guys are nice but they don't really know jack. So there was nothing else I could do and waited. Last night, I logged on and the download button was available! I'm using a Mac with the latest software, and a recently formatted 16gb drive to FAT32 (although mac doesn't say it's FAT32 just MS FAT but I verified and it is. Here's what I did wrong:
1. I used Safari... I should have known, the geniuses at Apple try to make things easier for the end user but in the end things get messed up. It auto unzips the file and extracts files that it shouldn't, which left me with 9 files instead of 3. 6 SyncMyRide files and 3 for the install. I thought ok that's weird but maybe since these files were just modified on 4/30 they came out after the instructions were posted on the Sync website.
2. Went crazy tying to figure out why the radio kept saying files not found and every time the sync voice said that I wanted to bash the radio...
3. Tried to download an unzip software to see if it was able to unzip the files differently. I wasn't thinking right obviously because the files were already unzipped so there was nothing to unzip...
Here's what I did right:
1. Suddenly it came to me! Safari is good for browsing but sometimes it messes things up! so I logged on with Chrome and re downloaded the file.
2. Voila! Chrome showed a zip file in the download folder and now I just had to unzip it.
3. I wasn't going to take any chances so I right clicked on it and selected open with "stuffit expander".
4. Put the files in the drive and took it back to the car.
5. ***VERY IMPORTANT*** Do another master reset of your radio, turn off the ignition and turn it back on. Insert the drive and go to install application. The system tells you to disregard the first install complete prompt and not mess with the radio until it reboots and tells you that it's done! trust me it'll seem like nothing is going on but it's doing its thing, do not mess with it and wait the 10 minutes until it says it's completed again.
Tested the Metadata from songs using iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3 through Bluetooth and using Spotify

Yeah, mine acted differently than it did during most other updates too, thought I bricked it at first.

Doing one after the install seems to help too. Mine was worse than ever after the update, after 1 day, I did a Master Reset and now 4.6 behaves as well as 4.4 and 4.2 before it, which still isn't great, but at least it's no worse, though IT STILL WANTS TO DEFAULT TO FM!!! (Just like it did with 4.2/4.4).

I have a 2011 with the 8" touchscreen nav. Recently (within the last week) it stopped reading GPS, and I have the NO GPS logo in the upper left of the screen. It shows my position on the map about 10-15 miles off of where I actually am.
I tried a master reset, and when that did not resolve my issue I checked for updates. It shows an update available, but I get "File not found". I have tried multiple browsers and usb drives, I have edited the install files and removed the subfolder references and moved the corresponding files, nothing has worked.
My question is, what could cause this issue, and would an update help? Any other suggestions? I have had no GPS for the past 4 days, despite clear skies and no tree cover.

Don't mess with the files at all. Here's a few tips:
1. What system are you using? Mac or Windows? This might help us give yuh some suggestions on what software to use when unzipping the file.
2. When you download the file, is it appearing as a zip file or just a folder with the files already in it? The file must be in zip format when it downloads. Do not allow your OS to unzip it for you. right click on it and select open with…
3. Are you sure that the drives are formatted to MS DOS FAT 32? Reformat it just in case.
4. Are there any other files in it? Make sure it's only the 3 files that you put in it. One should be a folder named SyncMyRide
5. Have you tried selecting your source as usb before attempting to go into the install menu? I think the radio has to recognize the drive first.

Hi Adam Rogowicz,
The update will not fix this issue. You'll have to visit the dealer to have them look at the GPS module.

Keep me posted.

Shaay,
I swung by a dealership today and called another. The first dealership said emphatically, it's the antenna. The second said they would need to check the high speed and low speed can busses, the APIM module and several other things. I don't know a ton about this vehicle, but I do know from other types of can bus that an "unhappy can bus" will likely have intermittent and widespread errors, however this is the only issue I see. So I think I can rule out both the engine management bus and the interior or user features bus at least with some degree of certainty. The APIM module includes the steering wheel audio controls I believe, and is also usually a can bus, and since that and all of the other audio functions are working, I think I can rule that out with some degree of certainty.
You said the GPS module. Is that a separate module which is part of the ivi system? Or are you referring to the antenna?
The dealership I visited wanted $400-something to replace the antenna, or 4 hours of labor, which is ludacris. I say that having spent the past hour not only dropping the headliner to check the GPS antenna connection there, but also the connection under the passenger side dash, and inspecting the wire for abrasion and kinks all the way to the base of the center console where it appears to split into two separate cables; presumably one for GPS, and one for the satellite radio. I did not fully disassemble the dash to trace the wire all the way to the myFord Touch, but after reassembling everything, I checked the Sirius radio, (no subscription but it at least has a preview station, which was working), I think I can rule out the antenna. All of which took under 1 hour for someone familiar with cars but completely new to Fords or this vehicle in particular, so I'm not sure where the dealership is getting 4 hours...
All of that said, I saw a TSB somewhere indicating a calibration may be necessary, but I do not know if that would resolve my issue either. One of the steps for the TSB and some of the forums indicated disconnecting the negative battery terminal for at least 1 minute may help, however it did not for me. The only thing it did was wipe my clock data which appears to be set only by the GPS so I have no clock now.
If there is a separate GPS module, where is it located, and is there any way I can test it or does that require proprietary hardware and software?
Of all of the information I can gather, it does not seem that my issues is related to any of the issues I have seen posted in forums thus far, and with barely 45k miles on the clock, it seems like very low mileage for something like this to occur. Has this been an issue for others and I am simply not finding the right forum threads or is this a solitary problem? Any additional input would be greatly appreciated.
