I love Arizona. I can open carry at 18, I can put it in my glovebox, center console or door pocket and its not concealing. Under your seat is concealing though. Then at 21 we can conceal carry without a ccw. But if you do have a ccw you can conceal into many more places. Like a bar and stuff.

Pretty much an awesome state for carrying

In Missouri you can open carry in the glovebox without a CCW, but not till you are 21. I still keep my Glock out when going over to the BIL to shoot (and before the presumptuous posters start ranting their BS again: No, I have no round in the chamber when I do this nor will I). I missed my CCW renewal so I can't conceal carry right now anyway.

As for the PoPo: If you get pulled over, just let them friggin' know you are carrying. If you do and they still go ape ****, take your gun, throw you on the ground or some other act of over the top paranoid stupidity you can go through the proper channels to deal with that later. I'm a Libertarian and fully believe that a law abiding citizen should never have his/her weapon taken when they have a legal right to carry. Officers stop people for reasonable suspicion or probable cause that a violation has occurred. The officer has many things to do and observe during this time and must ALWAYS have control of the situation. Sometimes that may mean securing your weapon till the incident is over and it's time for you to be on your way. If you feel the officer went too far....well, you have his information on that ticket. Go to his supervisor, go to the chief or sheriff, go see a lawyer. The time to pick your 2nd amendment battle isn't while you are pulled over.

Falcon, thank you. Sometimes I wonder if this type of common sense still exist. You have given me hope.

Go ahead if you like, but if the Officer see's it, and you haven't told that Officer your going to loose the battle right then, and there. Those that have a CCW know that it will show up on the states vehicle registration site if the Officer runs the tag. They know they are required to place their hands on the steering wheel, and advise the Officer if a gun is present or not. If you don't have a CCW, and legally have a gun in your vehicle why not tell the Officer? It could save you the embarrassment of being measured for the steel bracelets.

Oh I forgot, some of you are so much smarter than that dumb ol' Police Officer. So, disregard what I said. But remember, unless you have lived the life you have no idea what it is to be a Law Enforcement Officer. SMDH
Why not tell the officer? That's need to know information and he doesn't need to know. Police DO NOT have the right to know what is in my vehicle. It doesn't affect the situation unless someone pulls it out and that type of person isn't going to tell you they have a gun.

Quite frankly I'm glad I don't know firsthand the life of a police officer. Corruption, trampling of rights, power trips, and all under the guise of protection which it is not the duty of an officer to protect. The police are not required to protect you, so I must do it myself.

Although I have had opportunity to face LEOs due to minor traffic infraction over the years, none has ever given me grief over my CHL nor have they been unprofessional in any sense. And at times we engaged in short conversation about my choice of carry weapon.

Best of all I did not receive a traffic citation beyond a warning in any of those stops!

Totally agree...some people are just full of **** and vinegar...wanting to challenge LEO's and then cry that their civil rights were stomped on when they are challenged and face down on the ground! If you want to be THAT guy...be my guest!! I prefer to respect the fact that while I am a CHL, I just let them know I am carrying. It has helped me get out of a ticket which would have ruined my 10 record W/O a ticket! I would gladly tell them if it meant possibly not paying a $180+ ticket or doing defensive driving! That just means less money to spend on my truck!! Give attitude...get attitude!
