In Michigan to carry a handgun on you in a vehicle or have a pistol loaded in a vehicle you must have a CPL. Once a weapon is in a vehcile its considered concealed and you must have a CPL to CC. If you do not have a CPL the weapon must be unloaded and in a case away from the access of the driver. I have my CPL and I almost always have my pistol in its holster on my hip. Very seldom do I leave it in the truck, thats a last resort always.

 

Center console, glove box, on the seat under a towel, or on your person, as long as it's concealed.

Like kozal01 said, here in MI, CPL on the hip and on a rare occasion in the center console. You can open carry here in MI but as said once your in the vehicle it's concealed.

Wrong, we voted the cc law out of the state constitution, it is now a fundamental right.

Section 11. The right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental and shall not be infringed. Any restriction on this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.
