Its hard to explain but if you find the thread about it with pictures and then do it once it's easy after that. There is a little release lever that feels like the pin, once you figure out which one is which and what way it needs to move its a snap.

Plenty of room back there for the guns as I have a lot more gear stuffed behind the back seats now. Would love to see a setup that holds everything in place and not moving around, a free float mount with something like a rubber belt to hold it in. Put me down for one.

Being in California, seeing the pics in this thread and reading the posts blows my mind.

You guys know you can't open carry loaded or unloaded handguns here? Getting a concealed weapons permit is virtually impossible. Long gun open carry is being considered for illegal status.

Guns need to be in a locked box in your vehicle. Ammo has to be in a separate locked box. Gun can't be loaded and in a locked container. I can't imagine gun ownership being much more restrictive than it is here.

Some rural areas you have a little more leeway.

It's like a different planet than what you guys are on.

Bro, I'm in NJ. Do you and I are virtually in the same boat. But I did it anyway. It's not with me often, I use discretion. I don't like people with armed bodyguards telling me I don't need protection. After coming home from Afghanistan, it felt weird not having a weapon nearby. Mostly though, I did this just because. Another guy here had his mounted to the rear of his console, I placed mine inside the console but on the inner wall. Pretty close to being at a drop leg type draw.

Great information and ideas, thanks. Here most folks have "something" in their vehicles. It does get touchy as you travel, though. Just a few years ago the National Park Service would really hammer you if you were just crossing the Shenandoah Parkway and got stopped with a gun. Now Congress has resolved that issue.

It should be that your vehicle is an extension of your home. If someone pulls your door open and grabs you, same as a home invasion. You should have the right to protect yourself in your abode. Maybe someday...

Here is a great site for all these laws.

I really likes some of the pistol ideas here.

That sucks. Give Senator Dianne Feinstein a hug... If she has anything to do with it even the participation in this thread about guns in a vehicle will be illegal.
