I'm not sure what they did, but whatever it was, it did not solve the problem. As is a warranty issue (truck is a 2023 F150), they contacted Ford to get them to authorize a new GWM module. Ford did not do authorize but asked for some more measurements and information, which dealer service did, they said. So far (two weeks now) Ford has not authorized replacement, nor have they given the service department any other instructions. There is a recall notice also pending for this truck, which has not been done as, apparently, programming of the same module (system?) is required.

What is happening here? What should I do ? It seems to be on a hold of indefinite duration.
Saga continues---After some back and forth between dealer service and Ford, Ford did authorize new parts, including a new GWM module, which was installed (I think this is correct but don't know firsthand). Service manager told me that when the technician tried to load the software the process failed before completion. Now dealer service is still waiting for instructions from Ford as to what to do or try next.

In the meantime I have the truck back. It runs fine but now in addition to :update status" going round and round, there is no Blue Cruise, no CarPlay, no Ford Pass app. This has been six weeks now since the truck first went to dealer service, and I'm sure dealer service would like to get it fixed. (I have dealt with them for a long time, and they are a good group.) Why Ford seems unable to handle this situation I'm not sure, but as these computer issues seem to be handled and resolved at some central Ford facility I wish they would figure it out. It is a 2023 F150 Platinum, still under warranty, so it is unclear to me why this service process seems to be bogged down, or whether there is anything I can do about it, other than wait.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Send me the VIN again so I don't have to dig for it.

The last update on my '21 job 1 XLT was ECG-24.2.4.10.1 on November 12th. Prior to that I used FDRS to update all modules.

It's not a daily driver but I do make 30-70 mile trips on local highways every few weeks. There a little stop-and-go but plenty of sustained driving.

In between drives, it's on a Battery Tender. It turns solid red when I connect it and later turns solid green, so I'm confident that it's fully charged.

Should I not expect to have received more updates since November?

I was told by Ford to NOT have the charger on when an update is expected, why, because the truck thinks it is running and will not update for that type of update. It worked for me. I too like to have the battery tender working. I got 2 updates with it off over night in a matter of 3 days. I set my update time to 1:00 AM.

Not much has been released for our trucks since then, so not surprised you haven't gotten much since then.

The people who answer the 800 number at Ford are clueless. Having your truck on a charger will not prevent updates.

Have to wonder why my Non Bluecruise equipped truck got a BC map update 6.1.0 a month ago.

AFAIK no other updates have happened in months and I'm way behind. But really, its working just fine IMHO and therefore, I'm not sure I really care about missing updates..

The FORD USA transfered me to the Canadian FORD tech, seemed quite helpful, updates happened after our talk even an unexpected update which for unknown reasons was not to happen until sometime in March which he could not explain. My truck is canadian (sorry, no tariffs..lol)
