My '23 XLT has been trying to do the latest priority update for the windows for over a week and still won't install it. Battery is up, doors and windows are closed and locked and it still won't take.

 

You need a really healthy and fully charged battery.

Mine kept failing the window update and repeated attempts over the course of 1 week eventually killed the battery. The dealer had to put in a new battery and it still failed to auto update. Then they did a manual update with FDRS and the battery connected to a charger which finally worked.

For some reason this window update is really stressing out the electrical system and lots of people are reporting similar issues.

 

Mine was doing this too. After about a week or two it finally installed. Now it's doing the same thing with the next update, HVAC-24.5.0 (Optimized Airflow for Your Comfort).

 

Yep had the battery charger on it for 6 hours and still wouldn't update. I am on my second battery from Ford.

Latest software update for me stated that it was optimizing airflow of the AC unit or something to that effect. I haven't noticed a difference. Anyone else?

 

my update failed due to mismatch data because I added the heated steering wheel and replaced the HVAC controls. I even did the module programming through FDRS but the server still has my old HVAC part number. I’m thinking of putting my old module in and updating it, then just copying the as built from it after the update to put on the new one and make the forscan changes for the heated steering wheel, but that’s a lot of trouble just to get this update when no one knows what it does exactly.

 

Even if you do that, the module will still have the old software on it. The config and the firmware is not the same thing. The only thing you will gain from doing that is the HVAC update will no longer show available so you won't continue to get the OTA which will continue to fail.

 

Got your message. Your truck is on Sync 23159 which is two version behind the latest. The good news is, you are showing a GWM pending, so you are not one of the vehicles stuck on this version until Ford releases the next update. Your modem is working fine and your truck is talking to the mothership. I don't see anything preventing you from getting updates.....seems like just bad luck with the crappy OTA process.
