Has anyone noticed this, Ever since I got my 6.1.0 update, my GPS for my truck is wrong, it's at a local store that I was at when I got the update successful message in the Ford Pass app.

Yes, it will. As long as they program the new module to your truck correctly.

Not sure why you're getting that error or what the latest one is. One person in another forum reported a new TCU update in FDRS last week but I don't remember who it was to ask. I believe that new TCU update is the equivalent to OTA 6.4.0, but no one has reported getting it via OTA yet.

It is a known issue. Supposedly, Ford knows about it and a future update will fix it. Some people are reporting the GPS shows their truck is in Michigan at the plant where it was built.

@rugedraw sorry to throw another request at you, reading through this thread you seem to be the hero we don’t deserve!

I’ve got a 2021 and have never received an update, I didn’t think much of it but have now stumbled across this thread and am seeing everything I’m missing out on! I called the help line today and they claim I am on the latest version, but I’m having trouble believing them based on what I see here. I also asked while at the dealer today for an oil change and they seemed confused as well.

I have made sure I’m connected to wifi and when I press the update details it says I’m up to date as well.

are you able to check things out for me and point me in the right direction?

My VIN is 1FTEW1EP9MKD88324

and here is my about sync screen

I don't even have to run your VIN to know your truck is in the worst possible state in can be in terms of getting updates. That is old broken software from 2020. Without dealer intervention, your truck will never get an update. The dealer needs to manually update your APIM or diagnose it as faulty and replace it. It will be difficult to get your dealer to do this, because unfortunately, they are not aware of the issue. There is a Ford TSB 22-2404 that dictates how to manually update the module that is stuck. However, since your truck is not going to show any failed update attempts, they can't apply the TSB to get paid for the work from Ford. I can send you more info tomorrow from work.

F*ck it. I took out my laptop.

First of all: Does your truck allow you to set an auto-updates schedule, or is the button grayed out?

Below is a list of modules on your truck with pending updates. As you can see, the APIM is on that list along with a bunch of other updates. Also attached is the latest GSM sent to Ford dealers on 10/26. In that GSM, there is a link to the other pdf I attached. That pdf says your truck as a 2021 should have Sync 23167 at the latest version. You're on Sync 20312, which is from the 312th day of 2020.

If your auto-updates button is grayed out, chances are, your APIM will not be able to be manually updated by the dealer. They would have to apply TSB 22-2404 to get it to update. It's a pain in the *** and they probably won't have the cables needed to do it. They can try to update it the regular way, but it will fail. If your auto-updates button is not grayed out, there is a chance that they can update it using the regular FDRS process with a USB drive. Whether they update it or replace it does not matter. Either/or will solve your problem.

Good luck.

@rugedraw thank you so much, I really really appreciate it!

luckily, in my small win for the day, my auto update button is not greyed out, so fingers crossed for a little more luck that it might work through the standard process!

I can’t thank you enough for your help, I think with this info I will be able to work with the dealer to do what would have otherwise confused them indefinitely!

I've called out @Ford Motor Co. on this several times, but they ignore me. I figure it is cheaper for them to keep me doing this pro-bono.
