has ANYBODY gotten this update failure issue fixed?
I honestly think it depends on the build date of your truck. There's a specific demarcation between what's referred to as "Job 1" and the "Job 2" vehicles which have these issues corrected right off the line. The cutoff date is June or July of 2021, but I don't recall it specifically at this moment.
For those of us unfortunate to have the "Job 1" vehicles, owner feedback seems to be all over the place. I've seen reports of people having tried all sorts of "fixes" with varied results, but to date I've not seen any stable, reliable resolution. If your build date is prior to July of '21, I'd recommend waiting until Ford officially releases their "fix" before having your dealer apply it (to avoid the back-and-forth runaround that I described above). User @Livnitup has gotten his hands on an early release and shared some demonstrations of its application. As he mentions in his descriptions, the update is massive and incorporates a number of sub-components, meaning that it is VERY unlikely that it will be made available "over-the-air". For this reason, as well as my complete trust in him as a Ford-Tech-Guru, I am keeping my eyes open for any additional updates he may have for a release timeline.
1. The Feb 22 date was provided verbally by a dealer that, for lack of a more appropriate description, has NOT instilled a lot of confidence in me. It would not surprise me in the least to see this release delayed further.
2. I'm certain Ford knows that the second they announce that they have a non-OTA solution, every "Job 1" owner will be scrambling to be first in line at their local dealer to have it installed. I do not expect much fanfare for this release, especially considering how little information they share now with their updates!

Best of luck!
yeah, that makes sense. And I certainly agree with waiting until the dealers have an established procedure to fix the firmware, rather than blindly throwing parts at it. And maybe by that time they’ll have the rivets to fix the underbody insulation recall, too!

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones...my build date was 8/21 and my SYNC says the last update was 8/26 so maybe you're right. I really haven't had any of the issues described on the posts so far. Turn by turn even connected wirelessly to Android Auto appears in the 8" dash screen. No charging issues that you all have reported. Hope Ford gets this fixed...imagine if these things happen in the Lightning with all the media hype..won't help Ford stock for sure
My 2021 Plat was "built" in mid-March, put on a chip hold and finally completed at the end of June. Up until a week ago, I had not received any OTA updates that I was aware of.
A week ago I got this in the Ford app, but no notification in the vehicle.
Since this update, Securialert is now available in the app. Unlike other screenshots in this thread, no version number was shown in my notification. I'm happy that something finally happened, but I still have no idea what updates I've received. Is there any way to tell what versions I may have? I guess it's possible that updates were applied in June before final build was complete, but I have no way of knowing that. It would be nice to know if any of the 1.4, 1.6, 1.7, 2.1, etc. updates were applied.
SSM 50383 - 2021 F-150/Mustang Mach-E - Over-The-Air (OTA) Failed Message In The Center Touchscreen / SYNC Software Does Not Download From The USB
Some 2021 F-150/Mustang Mach-E vehicles may display OTA Update Not Successful messages on the vehicle's center touchscreen. Also, when a software update is being performed on the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) using the FDRS, the center touchscreen may not indicate the APIM software is downloading when plugging a USB drive into the vehicle. This may be due to an APIM software concern.Inform customers that Ford is currently working on a solution for this condition that is to be released via the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) in February 2022. Inform the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle and only need to schedule a follow-up appointment if they are still experiencing the OTA Update Not Successful message in March 2022 or if the APIM is not able to beupdated via the FDRS. Monitor OASIS for updates.
OK, so I finally got a call from my dealer, Ford engineers sent them more stuff to try on the computers. They will be trying again to update all my computers and modules Tuesday. Fingers crossed and I'll report back.
Must be doing something, just got a fordpass alarm on my phone that my vehicle access has been revoked due to a master reset.
Let's hope it means something will be fixed and not just that I'll have more issues and have to redo everything.
Wow, I’d be pissed if that’s the response I got. In no way did that help you. Go to your dealer. Oh, but the dealer can’t help you yet. Not my problem any more. Wow.
