Like many of you I have been experiencing the same memory issue described in my 2020 F150. My symptoms were loss of present pages and defaulting back to the standard display background after going through the initial prompts every 2 starts or so.

Even though many have tried the master reset to no avail I decided to give it a shot. Somehow my settings don’t reset anymore and I have all 5 preset pages in tact. I still have to confirm the prompts every few starts, however that is very minor until the next update comes out.

Those are complete instructions. I'm not posting direct download links because the files are hosted on Ford's servers and copyright by Ford. If someone else wants to post them (or even you once you find them) more power to them. A little bit of legwork is required on your part by copying/pasting the file names into Google and looking at the top few results to figure out where to find them. If that's not up your alley, I would suggest heading over to the Cyanlabs website and looking there for further info.

 

It's just a log folder, hence the rw - read/write in the rwdata folder name. Seeing logs showing Carplay just means the person/tester was using CarPlay. I'm sure the logs generate with any type of repeated activity that the operating system is set to log to that folder.

 

Question for anyone else trying to resolve this issue. Much thanks to @barrytone for his detailed instructions and listed resources.

Now I have another step to ask about:
I have verified thru the interrogator log that the issue is the rwdwata folder being out of memory. I have also tried multiple resets to try and free up enough room to get the downgrade or reformat process going but to no avail. I have a MY19 and verified it is not MY20 (thru synupdater from CyanLabs). I have checked out all the resources on Fmods and this forum, and thru CyanLab but I can't seem to find a way to clear out enough memory to either do a master reset (to clear out more memory), or successfully run thru the BarryFix as people rightly call it.

At any rate, any thoughts on how to bust thru this issue? I keep getting the Ver_Err08 error due to lack of memory to make it happen. I don't have Forscan either, but if necessary I could get that also.

At any rate, any next steps help would be welcome, and has anyone had this issue where they just can't get memory cleared out enough to move forward? Thanks!

 

Can you get the first part of the jailbreak from Fmods to run? If you can get that far, the author of the script to clear the folder updated it to not require a dependency that won't install due to the space issue, so you should be able to run that with basically no free space.

 

did you end up trying the v2 rw data cleaner before attempting upgrade/downgrade?

 

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't gotten through the first part of the jailbreak process yet. I will try that process next, as the jailbreak was the only thing I hadn't done yet. I figured I needed to do something like that in order to get the rwdwata cleaner mod to work, but I wasn't sure if all I had to do was the jailbreak or load other files before the latest version of the cleaner would run. Thanks again for that, I will respond here once I get the time to do it and post the results for all..

Finally got so fed up from it getting worse today that I said screw it and attempted to fix myself again. Blue screens and nothing working/ forgetting every setting. Even though my apim replacement has been approved, it gave me enough confidence that I could mess around a little and not have to find out. Finally I think everything panned out and worked correctly. Haven’t had any hiccups since and all features are finally back. Time will tell.

Ended up making 4 usb drives.

1- Jailbreak (USBs 1 and 2 I got from naviupgrade)
2- Daemon
3- rwdata cleaner v1.2 (fmods)
4- sync update from 3.4.22251 to 3.4.23088
(cyan labs syn3updater)

I watched naviupgrade’s video for the jailbreak portion as I am more a visual learner. *Note didn’t need to use the modstools files. Finally followers her up with the clean and upgrade. All in all didn’t take more than 45min. The actual doing that is and not all the “research” and set up I ended up doing.

Hope this helps anyone else semi dumb like me to trudge through this ridiculous and annoying issue.
