How did you Manage to do this?
Also, instead of replacing APIM, is it possible to suffer and wait out another update, if Ford so chooses to do so?

Could always wait it out if things aren’t horrendous. Mine got so bad that it started losing all my xm presets, lagging worse and worse, even freezing or showing a blank screen more often. Reverse cam while moving forward. Ford pass working never. In all my talks with Ford they never really gave me a time frame. Heard hopefully by this summer once and another time heard maybe by fall time. At least for an OTA update sorta fix. The vehicle wouldn’t remember any settings or my home Wi-Fi. So I would have to religiously check the online website and download via usb to even get the update were it to come out. It just got so bad and I was so fed up that I mind as well get it replaced. Otherwise jailbreaking and running a rw cleaner seemed to be my best alternative. Whether I could run the cleaner more than one time, when it fills again, I do not know yet. Or instead of running the cleaner more than once I’d run it a single time to give me enough memory to downgrade or upgrade via cyan labs. Either of the latter ways I feel could possibly in the off chance mess with my extended warranty. So I just have been trying to play the safe route.

Gotcha. I had sync 3.3 when I bought my 2019 last September. I upgraded to 3.4 around October and it took until about January it began showing symptoms and has gotten increasingly worse but I can soft reset it and it work for the day but still have network questions come up each restart of the truck

@r_mozisek Use the tool from the Cyanlabs site to build a usb stick that will format your APIM and update it to the version past the one that is causing your issues.

Alternatively, if you’re tech savvy, get the files listed above by @barrytone , build the usb stick and do the reformat and update yourself. Aside from the reformat file, you can likely download the other files straight from the Ford Sync site using your VIN #. Google for the reformat file, if you go this fun route. I geek out on stuff like this, so it’s fun to me. 😂😂

The jailbreak tool works too. Once you’ve done the jailbreak and ran the cleanup tool, then use the usb created with the Cyanlabs tool or yourself and then do the format and update. I ran the jailbreak for fun and it works. Just reformat and update after the jailbreak and you’re back to normal.

These tools work, if you follow the instructions. Replacing the APIM is the gold plate Cadillac fix.

Mine goes in to the dealer in 2 days for then to diagnose this exact same issue that everyone is talking about. Prompts at each start, black screen, backup cam while driving forward, does not save last channel history. I have videos and pics in the event they say they "Cannot Duplicate" the issue. Time will tell.

I never use CarPlay or android auto and I have the issue as well

Going to do another Cyanlabs update today. Hopefully I can jump past the 22251 update that everyone is having issues with including me.

Jailbreak and clean the rw files is the next step…or wait for a new APIM, if covered.

edit: I’m assuming your usb is of the right size and formatted correctly.
