Sync 3 Memory Issue
Tried that even before talking to Ford.
On the bright side, my Apple Car play is noticeably faster lol. If it wasn;t for all the pop-ups, I could tolerate this, but the pop-ups and b/u camera acting weird are getting annoying.
This has happened to way too many people for this to be an APIM issue. Isn't Ford on this website?

Or how about this?: If it is hardware related, then consider how a personal computer relies on a CMOS battery to retain the bios settings, configuration details, and the system date and time. When this battery begins to fail, you will notice strange things such as the time being incorrect, drives becoming unavailable, etc. I'm not sure that this is the case, but it stands to reason that something besides the main 12v battery would be incorporated to hold the configuration, especially while the engine is being cranked. The vehicles with this problem are getting to be a few years old now and the batteries (or maybe capacitors) are failing. It would be nice if we could change the little buggers if they exist, don't you think?
I have this exact issue and it's driving me insane. Truck is going in to the dealer for new tires and an oil change so i'm going to ask them to look at it. I bought the Flood Ford extended warranty when i purchased the truck so hopefully the radio/APIM is covered.
I'm losing my damn mind having to reset everything each time i get in the truck

This is very peculiar that we all should have this APIM problem. I guarantee that Ford knows exactly what is happening too.
The same goes for their stupid Ford Pass app that I used to be able to remote start the truck with. After a dozen hours with the Ford techs on the phone they decided that my TCU needed a firmware upgrade. Their firmware upgrade requirement obsoleted my connectivity. How about that?

Maybe it’s the Chinese attacking our vehicles? Do you realize that any deliberate built-in weaknesses in the chipsets could cripple most of our vehicles? Say… just one little strategically planned electromagnetic pulse to shut U.S. all down.
While certainly possible, i think the more likely reality is general incompetence, wouldn't surprise me in the least if a sizable chunk of fomoco's tech was either outsourced or done by **** devs who are managed by clueless PM's in it for the money
