Sync 3 Memory Issue

It's pretty hard to totally mess it up, as long as you keep the truck running or have a good battery charger to hook up so the BMS doesn't kick in and shut the truck down in the middle of the process. As a whole, the truck can run without the radio, so absolute worse case, everything went horribly and your APIM is torched, you can still drive the truck with no radio and purchase a new APIM from eBay, etc. The chances of things getting to that point is slim to none if steps are properly followed.
Yo, why that reply make me feel like i can do it!!! Hahahaha... im gonna give it a shot
I helped Zenk with his setup, they just opted for a reformat install, so if you are familiar with the Cyanlabs utility, it's the same files/output/process that someone else mentioned earlier in the thread. I just prefer to build my installs by hand because I like to understand what is in them vs. trusting a 3rd party utility to do it for me. 20 years of working on computers will learn you to not blindly trust software just because it has an easy button
.
Until a time when Ford maybe admits there's an issue and produces an official utility or update to address it, fixing it will either be via a reformat process or the jailbreak process, so it's kind of up to the individual on how they want to approach it. MY20 and newer would have to jailbreak because reformatting will make their setup unusable.
Since the installs I compiled contain Ford proprietary binaries, I prefer not to post them publicly, but if someone wants them instead of using the Cyanlabs utility, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll send the info over.

So nothing for 20MY? Dumb question - I know. Just trying to get to 5 posts so I can fix this stupid issue.
You can try the process in post 95 of this thread to see how much space you are dealing with on the log partition.
So glad I found this thread - been ready to put my fist through the screen. I’ve tried master reset twice now. Have to soft reset just about every time I drive. I updated via USB as it was being slow, then it updated over WiFi. Must be Ford laid off the SYNC QA folks in the last round.
I have been searching for a solution for this for the last month plus. I Was about to bite the bullet on a new APIM but think this may fix it! @barrytone I am new to this site and can't send a message yet. If you can send me this I will forever be in your debt!
Side note, i can't perform a master reset because it freezes when i try to do so. Any thoughts? will this prevent me from being able to fix it my self, and leave me stuck with buying a new APIM?
Thank you!
