I still don't know what a "leveling kit" is or what it's for. How do you inastall it. The title makes you think it's about what this is for.
The truck from the factory sit high in the rear end.
A level kit lift's the front of the truck to be level with the rear.
There are different sized kits to accommodate the different eng. and trim levels.
Pic of my truck stock, low in the front and high in the rear.
And pic after 2.25" ready lift level (spacer that sit's on top of strut) and new 275/70/18 BFG ATs.
Now the truck is almost level, still about 1" of rake.
If you have no understanding of how to install a level kit seek professional help, or watch some You- tube video's if you feel you want to do it yourself.
That will give you a good understanding of the install procedure and the tools needed.
Done, Put Bilstein 5100's all around at the 2.1 setting yesterday and having Cooper AT3 XLT's put on tomorrow. Went with 275/70/18 on the stock wheels. Just not enough mud and rocks on the interstate and roads to need more.
Pic of this setup? I have a 2.5 inch lift in the front, stock shocks all around. Looking to improve ride quality, and might just start with the rear to keep the truck level.
I went with the 2.250'' front and it lifted my truck is a 1/4'' lower in the front than the rear! I put on New 2019 Raptor wheels and tires which are 34.5' s or 315's. No hitting anything but is close ! My Ford dealer installed all of it and checked the alignment . They put the strut in a vise and turned the lower strut bracket 180 degrees ! I will be adding a good air bag system to the rear with inside controls when hauling my 29' flat bed trailer. I have the same truck but a XLT FX4 with 3.73 gears and thinking of going 4.10 front and back soon. Thank! Ron Hope this helps
Dose this void the warranty? Page 230 of the owner's manual says:
"Maintenance and Modifications
The suspension and steering systems on your vehicle have been designed and tested to provide predictable performance whether loaded or empty. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you do not make modifications such as adding or removing parts (i.e., lift kits or stabilizer bars) or by using replacement parts not equivalent to the original factory equipment."
^ ^ ^ Depends on the dealer you might take any warranty repair work to.
Another thing you can do is simply "level" your rig with better dampers, like Bilstein. You can position the front coil spring saddle in one of five places which after assembly then installation will result in a roughly .5" ride height increase for every notch above the "stock" or, "factory" ride height.
Then again, how many dealers who install leveling pucks above the stock shocks will deny any warranty claims due to suspension "mods".
Until you learn more, don't do anything past a 2" front lift/level.
2018 3.5 FX4 Lariat SCREW 1.26" Lift Bilsteins F&R . Before lift I had 3" of rake. After, I have about 1 7/8” of rake (measured 50 miles later). Install was done same day as photo (yesterday).
You can, if you want, raise the front an inch or inch-and-one-half (2" is about the most with stock control arms - you can do more but geometry suffers) OR drop the rear one inch with a pair of lowering shackles for your rear leaf springs.
