Hi, I have a '15 Lariat with the Pro Comp #62206K kit.
I took the truck to a local garage to remove the kit from the struts. Doesn't work for what I'm going to do - towing, need good MPG, and so on. I bought the truck second hand with the kit installed.
The kit uses preload spacers. The guys at the shop, even when using a spring compressor, could not get these things out. Do these things get stuck in there pretty badly? They want me to get replacements - OEM set is only like $150 on ebay, so I could do that if I had to...
Will I need to order a set of stock preload spacers or are the original ones still in there? Thank you!
If I understand correctly, you are trying to have the truck returned to stock? If so, just have the strut diassembled to remove the preload spacer. The preload spacer is between the coil spring and the strut top hat. The spring would need to be compressed and the top hat removed in order to remove the preload spacer.
If you opt for the OEM set, it's just a disassembly of the driver and passenger sides and replacing the whole strut currently installed with the new ones, assuming both are already assembled. There are no spacers in an OEM strut assembly.

Thank you - yes, to stock. The garage tried to tell me the spacer was welded to the top hat. They could not separate them. If they get jammed together under load then perhaps they can't separate them without a special tool? Seems like a shame for me to have to buy another set of struts because they can't get the preload spacer out!

Shouldn't be welded. The spacer in the 62206K kit is aluminum and I'm certain the top hat is steel. In any case, it's likely been in there long enough that dirt and grime and pressure just have them stuck together. Remove the top hat from the strut and smack it hard enough with a mallet so it doesn't damage anything, it should pop right off the top hat.
Of course, the easiest route is to just buy the new struts and replace the old ones. $150 isn't a lot by any means, so that's the way I would go rather than mess with a pain.
5100s at 2.1 plus the rears (3.5 eco boost lariat). Half an inch of rake left. Installed myself, bit of a pita but not bad overall. Used three spring compressors off of Amazon and it did the trick, no need for anything more than that.
Thanks to everyone who has posted tips, how tos, and photos. Made it light years easier.

Now to get some Ridge Grapplers...
While I didn't install mine, I too was left with 1/2" of rake after installation.
I was thinking of Ridge Grapplers myself, but ended up getting the Falkken Wildpeak AT3W. I've been super happy with them so far.
I went a slightly different way. I had the rear brought down to match the front. Pulled the rear block and had the back springs de-arched 3/4" to drop the back level with the front. I also have an Airride kit added in case I want to add some weight to the rear - towing, hauling, etc. But I had to use a different set of bags, ones that were 2" shorter than stock.

Anybody know any good places to get a spacer kit installed near central NH? Local dealers and Truck Trends quoted me $600+ for install which seems pretty crazy to me.
