owner.ford.com, create account if non-existent, plug in VIN, check for updates.

Follow up on my issue. I took my truck in yesterday regarding frequent phone disconnects from Bluetooth, lag in the steering wheel controls, lag on the interface, dropping GPS, etc. and they ordered me a new APIM. The service advisor said it should take about 48 hours for them to receive a new unit to install.

After a week, I am hoping to see the truck tomorrow. I just got notification that truck's Sync was updated today and the system had a master reset.

Well, I got my truck back yesterday, I was told that the APIM was from the 18 model year Fords. When I about sync, my maps are now 1.17. That was a nice surprise as the old maps and update was 1.16, It does seem to be a little more "peppier" then before, especially with Waze, Waze always seemed to be a little slow to react when displaying on the trucks screen, that delay is now gone!!

That's good news. I'm still waiting on a phone call telling me the module is in and to schedule an appointment to get it swapped out.

Just so you know, there were issue with my. They had to reflash the PCM and APIM on my truck. It was throwing Hard error code and the two units were not talking to each other. If your dealership tells you they are having either Hard error code or a flash issue, they might need to flash the PCM and/or the APIM.

Just got my truck back today with the new APIM. I decided not to mess with the FORScan changes and they never said anything about it. In fact, my seat icons were still on my home screen when I picked it up and all my radio presets were still in the right order like they just mirrored the old module. I thought that was odd.

Same thing happened to me, I asked the tech about forscan and they really don't care. Let me know how it works!

They read your data with IDS and loaded it into the new unit, instead of downloading the as built from the website.
