My screen just blacked out. One station plays, volume works, nothing else. Soft reset, the ford logo displays then goes back to black. When i put it in reverse the camera shows up. This happened after a master reset. Any ideas?

 

Did you update the software as well? What theme was it set at?

 

i tried to update. Just loaded for ten + plus minutes. Said f it. Hit master reset. Then lights out

 

Not good to interrupt an update. That could be the problem or it may be possible someone altered the theme to GT which isn't compatible with the latest update and will cause a blank or partial display.

then try running the update. Just put it in and let it sit for a while. If it’s not done in an hour I’d give up then. If it doesn’t correct itself it’s time to replace the apim.

This is a common problem.
Mine quit on the used 2018 I bought a year ago.
Black screen issues can be temporary resolved by holding the audio power and right arrow key for 30-45 seconds but the module is failing and this only works for a short time.

If you can replace it yourself it's about a 30-45 minute job and there's plenty of YouTube videos to assist you on remove the dash trim and getting to it. It's mounted on the back of the screen with 3 screws.

I just replaced mine with a used one reprogrammed to my VIN for less than $500.....upgraded and with the navigation system!
