APIM Module replacement?
I assume you are referring to a Sync 3 APIM module. If you're 100% sure that the problem is the APIM, keep an eye on the classified section of this forum and replace yourself... they come up for sale every once in awhile. It requires disassembly of part of your dash but it isn't too difficult and it'll only cost you the APIM itself. The difference in price of you doing it vs. the dealer is significant... hundreds vs. $1000. There's a handful of experts on this forum that if you buy from them, they can probably configure it for your truck based on your VIN, which avoids you having to reprogram via Forscan.
Here's an ad for one from a few days ago: https://www.f150forum.com/f122/sync-3-apim-405778/

Did you update the software as well? What theme was it set at?
Are you the original owner of the vehicle?

yes, I'm the original owner. The 20 year old connected his iphone, and started the creation of the cluster ____
This is a common problem.
Mine quit on the used 2018 I bought a year ago.
Black screen issues can be temporary resolved by holding the audio power and right arrow key for 30-45 seconds but the module is failing and this only works for a short time.
If you can replace it yourself it's about a 30-45 minute job and there's plenty of YouTube videos to assist you on remove the dash trim and getting to it. It's mounted on the back of the screen with 3 screws.
I just replaced mine with a used one reprogrammed to my VIN for less than $500.....upgraded and with the navigation system!
Very satisfied with the product! I've attached the link but if it doesn't appear I found it on Amazon. Click the Amazon icon to view the module and applications.
