I have the same problem with my 2017 King Ranch. Sure would like to see Ford do the right thing and go back to their APIM supplier and get these bad units replaced at no cost. These APIM failures were due to poor quality parts. This is nothing that the customer did nor frankly what FMC did. I have been driving F150s for decades. Never have had one leave me stranded on the side of the road. I have purchased the ESP in the past and have never had any real claims on it. This time, with past experience, I opted not to buy it. now with 41,000 miles out of warranty, I am holding the bag on an F150 that I have owned less than 2 years.

I am still a very loyal Ford customer. But this APIM issue is starting to leave a bad taste in my mind. I buy a $60,000 pickup that breaks within 24 months, due to poor quality parts and I am going to have to pay for it.

I sure would welcome a post or call from FMC on this issue, and how they can help resolve our frustrations.

I'm starting to have the same symptoms as others here have had and I think I'm probably going to need a new APIM. My truck is still under warranty, will the dealer give me a hard time about it since I have used forscan to add the seat icons to the screen?

Possibly, when I had mine replaced I hadn't messed with FORScan yet.

Great. Now I need to find that link that pulls up all the factory values by VIN.

I know that I for sure do for the '15 I had but I don't remember if I saved backups for my '17.

https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt this has everything I need though.

They didn't say a word about my 2016 when I toasted an APIM. I doubt they even looked. If memory serves, all the values remained the same.

Fun time for me now, my truck has been at the dealership for two days. They are having issues with the APIM, it's giving an error code. I guess Ford is now involved. The only nice thing is I am putting miles on their car instead of my truck!
