Basically any time I take my truck to the dealer, I could come home with a non-working system. That is not acceptable.
Why can you not run CarPlay with v.2.0? CarPlay is native with 2.0 if you have the correct USB Hub. Is the Rostra module causing it not to work?

I was under the impression the 2.2 version works without having to replace the usb hub. Is that wrong?

2.0 and 2.2 require the new USB device (its technically a device and not a hub) because it is certified by apple to do the mifi thing (or whatever they call it).

You need it for carplay.

Exactly. Have to have hub regardless of 2.0 or 2.2. The only issue is if your 2016 had a late Summer build, the hub would have been included. If prior to this time, you have to replace.

I told the Rostra Engineer of your questions from this forum. I will see if I can get any idea on updates.

Much news in the way of this module and Rostra... It appears that the blackouts are still not fixed. I spent a weekend driving to a concert in another state and had multiple blackouts. Also android auto does not appear to work with the latest version I have. I was a bit presumptuous it seems after having a couple weeks of no blackouts.
I reached out to Rostra again and they are going to replace all of the first modules that have issues to the new version that just shipped from Japan. It should be here the third week of June. It will be compatible with he latest 2.2 version and should have equivalent features of the old module. Rostra is very concerned about being here for us it seems. Let's hope the new module is everything it is supposed to be.

One more update...android auto not working quite right could have more to do with Google play music and other apps since their latest update. It still looks like the latest update for the current module is the most stable.

If the blackouts are still happening then it's time to rip out the system and throw it in the trash!

This camera mod has made me dread opening my door to see if I get the Ford Logo or the BLACK SCREEN. I get pissed daily...This has gone on way too long! I haven't had cameras working since Ford updated my sync but I still get the black screen.

Sorry for the rant!
