Their website still shows it's incompatible with Sync 3 V2.2. I'm guessing it's old info or you received one with beta firmware?

 

I received a newly designed module. Not on their site.

 

Are they going to get this out to everyone who purchased the original units ?

 

I have no idea of their plans. This was a special module for those who had updated feom
the v.2.2 Sync firmware from a thread on this forum.

No black screens after about a week and a half. So...all seems well. Now about the physical module change for 2.2...

 

Why do you need a new module if you are not having any issues?

Did you update from Ford's website or OTA?

 

I am not able to update past 2.0 to the version currently available from Ford...(2.2) That means I can't run Apple Carplay and the 2.2 addresses some bugs with the earlier versions of Sync 3. You basically abandon all upgrades or bug fixes from Sync 3 by using the Rostra module. That was never communicated or known beforehand. Basically any time I take my truck to the dealer, I could come home with a non-working system. That is not acceptable.

 

Mine was on 2.0 until I took it in to the dealer for a repair not associated with the sync when I picked it up they informed me they updated sync to 2.2. I lost all camera functions except the factory back up camera.
