You guys seem to have all of this figured out and since these cabs are pretty much the same thing I thought I would ask here. I have the same build package as the trucks that have the 360 camera. But do I have the wires to make this work? Are the wires in the main harness or are they separate? I took a few pictures of the back of the screen and maybe the ipbm... any help here would be great because the super duty guys don't know much about this option because it's new to 2017 for these trucks.

How many wires do you have in both the connectors on the IPMB? the smaller connectors looks like it doesn't have all the wires for the front and side cams. the larger one should have 15 and the smaller 10.

So I would guess you would need to add pins for those if they aren't there.

Also you will need to get a IPMB that has both PTBA and 360 cam.

Then the rest of the cams and whatever programming is involved.

Here is a picture of the 2 plugs going into the IPMB. One plug looks like it has 12 wires and the other just 3 with 5 slots open. If I don't have the wires there then I would need a whole new harness correct?

interesting. I was expecting a 20 pin and 12 pin plug. But it looks like you have the 15 pins as I thought would be in one connector. The second one is only for the front and side cameras

Any idea what the part numbers are or where I could find them for what I need? Anyone that has the 360 camera have any pictures of what the harness looks like and how many wires total? Do the wires for the front and side cameras that hook in the IPMB come from the main harness or is it separate? I'm really confused on the wiring. I don't want to have to rip apart the dash and replace the main harness. I don't mind spending money as long as it's just a few small harnesses, a few modules, and the cameras. I can't find any PDF wiring diagrams on the 17 super duty anywhere yet.

The smaller things are, the more they seem to cost....

there are three different IPMB
  1. 360
  2. PTBA
  3. PTBA and 360
i am currently sourcing parts for getting the PTBA to work but I believe the IPMB I bought is the third one I listed. I also bought the wiring pigtails for the IPMB.

I will I'll have to look up a 17 super duty to see if they show anything different for the f150

Sorry for the delay in posting updates here. We don't always have time to monitor the forums so if you own one of our products and run into issues please be sure to contact us directly for immediate support. That being said if you own one of the Rostra multi-cam interfaces and purchased it from us we have been in contact regarding the issues so this should not be new information.

As most of you know the multi-cam interface from Rostra for the Sync 3 trucks has compatibility issues. It does not matter which firmware you have as all the radio firmware versions seem to have major conflicts with the Rostra system. In addition, the update Rostra developed that was supposed to fix the problems actually made things even more flaky for almost everyone. Oddly enough we do actually have people that are running the new system with great success and no issues at all. One of them is running version 2.2 but it was factory installed, not a downloaded/flashed version from online sources. In addition, the Rostra firmware update was done on our customers truck by a Rostra Engineer personally (they happened to live close by). Not sure if there is a difference in SYNC 3 v2.2 depending on the source but it doesn't change the fact that the system is not stable in its current state.

In summary, if you have the Rostra Sync 3 module please do not flash anything else in an attempt to fix the problem without consulting with the Rostra engineer directly. As I have stated before in this forum PLEASE do not share firmware files. If you are talking with Rostra and have received a firmware package for your device it should not be shared as they can often tweak them for you specifically in an attempt to address your specific problem. Again, all firmware packages should come from us or Rostra and should not be posted or shared. Please PM me if you have a question about why this is VERY important and I would be happy to explain in more detail. You run the risk of bricking your interface and Rostra will not warranty it. At this point there is no point in flashing any updates unless specifically told to do so by us or Rostra because it will probably not work.

Rostra has an engineer headed overseas to the manufacturing facility to resolve on the issues mentioned in this forum. Like Roller mentioned, I too have been told 2 weeks on a fix, but we have all heard that before We appreciate your patience while Rostra figures this out, which I'm confident they will. As always, feel free to contact us directly at any time and we will share any new information. We have a list of customers who are experiencing issues so if you're on the list we will be contacting you within 10 seconds of receiving a new firmware update. I'm speculating that Rostra will contact one of you directly to test the firmware first before releasing it to us for distribution. If you happen to be the guy PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THE UPDATE! We will get it in the right hands immediately upon release.

Thanks again for your patience and we appreciate all the feedback so we can push it to Rostra!

P.S. Have I mentioned that you should not share firmware files? (*Ahummm* you know who...)
