I've had the same thing happen to me. I've had it freeze the screen and nothing except killing the engine, opening the car door, reclosing, restarting the truck will get me back to normal...Very Frustrating!

I seem to have more problems when my cell phone is hooked up so I can use CarPlay. I'm gonna try and experiment driving attached & unattached to see if I get the screen freeze.

Love the side cameras. I activate the camera when in traffic to the lane next to me as an extra safeguard...

At first, I wasn't a fan of the auto 10mph activation front camera coming on but now...It's really cool, I like seeing how close I'm getting to vehicles/objects in front of me instead of relying on just my judgment, then shuts off at full stop.

I recommend button placement near the screen, because, when ya wanna activate the camera you don't have to go to two different locations with yer hand to activate the process, everything is done in one location + passengers (Wife, Friends, Kids) can play with it from the passenger seat...Hit button on top/near screen, touch screen, select camera (F-L-R)

Satisfied so far, looking forward to becoming Completely Satisfied-->

So.. has anyone added the front camera to function properly to a lariat without this whole 3rd party setup? I would be interested in a more Oem setup.

I cant wait for the temperature to go up a notch up here in Canada so that I can install this new system.

In my case, I'm going for a full oem look. I'll be using the oem camera button instead of the one that comes with the module.

I just hope that the problems listed here about the "freezing" of the module/screen can be resolved thru a firmware update.

If any one has installation picture of where you installed the module since it is quite big, that would be an added bonus.

I'm also looking forward to playing with the side mirror installation. I have the big tow mirror with power extend and fold, so I have some apprehension there...

Sorry, no pics but i slid it behind the CD player and stuck, with included hook/loop adhesive to air duct. Haven't heard any rattling or other noises.

Umm, read the start of the thread. Wont happen unless you run a new dash harness, add the IPMA behind the APIM, more harnesses, and more modules.

This is the the only (pair of) system that are under a grand that work (sort of).

The closest to OEM costs just as much, Chris also linked to it earlier in the thread.
EDIT: this one

I get this screen pop-up while driving for no reason. Using the audio to listen to Sirius (till free sub is up, LOL!) or Pandora. Everything will be as it should then it pops up. Can't do anything because the touchscreen is locked...After a few minutes, it will go back to what I was doing or Shut off car & open door then restart??

Well, I just wasted $50.

I received the cable adapter for the iPhone to HDMI. It works as long as you're sitting still.

Wanted to use Google Maps...I programmed an experimental route, everything was cool until I started driving then a warning screen popped up, cannot use HDMI while driving!!!

Really thought I was gonna be able to use the HDMI to Mirror my phone but makes sense, some people would probably watch videos or whatever while driving.

I don't know why I thought it would work??

I don't really see any value in this feature if it only works while sitting still.

Unless like you said some freaky BS going on while parked!!

Except for the strange screen popping up while driving this thing is really sweet. I find I'm using it daily when I'm in multilane traffic to see what's going on to my left or right.
