Adding Front Camera to XLT
Thanks Chris for looking into all of this. I'm very happy with the system as it is now but fixing the override issue would make it even better.
As a bonus I used an RCA splitter to also send the camera signal to a DVR. Once I get the DVR working I'll be able to use the camera feed as a dash cam as well.

Thanks for the information and I have forwarded up to our engineers. Sounds like TexasFording has tested on his 2015 and isn't experiencing the problems. Can someone else without SYNC 3 run through Ajean's testing to confirm the issues are not present as well please? Please include trim level, options (specifically if you have pro backup assist), year etc.
Looking to test:
1. Rear camera override over 7 mph - should be able to activate rear cam and front camera anytime
2. Pro backup assist - ensure factory rear camera comes on automatically and does not require manual override
3. Screen flash when putting the truck in/out of reverse (showing truck diagram then going to rear camera) - some of this may be unavoidable as the module takes control of the camera circuit
4. Interference with navigation - ensure the navigation is unaffected when side cameras are active
We are working on it thanks again for the info.
Regards ,
Chris

Item #1; I have had this issue from original installation. I was in contact with you guys over the week before Christmas, speaking to Tricia. I double checked the dip settings, and did the re-programming again as suggested by TF, but still no go. It will activate at speeds higher than 7mph, but I only get the front. I can cycle it from the front cam view, to a blank screen. No rear cam view.
I do not have PTBA, and have not experienced the screen flash issue, #3.

I just realized that it's the rear camera that can't be activated above 7mph (not the front camera). I have no need to see the rear camera at those speeds so I'm happy with how it works now, although happy to help troubleshoot if both should be accessible at those speeds.
I connected everything but the DVR is only recording blackness. I'm hoping it's an issue with one of the cables and will re-check connections, as the DVR recorded with another camera.

I agree, which is why I decided not to contact C-S again about it. I just accepted it as the way it works. If I want to see behind me while going down the road, I look in the rear view mirror. It does work while stopped at a red light though, that way i can see the bunghole that is so close behind me that all I can see is the roof of his/her car in the mirror. On one occasion, I kept my foot on the brake and put it in reverse. When the white light lit up, it was funny to watch his arms flailing about and honking the horn lol.
Issue#1 - Backup camera speed limitation
The following video shows the backup camera shuts off when speed are over 7mph. The screen stay in "camera mode" but there is no video feed. As soon as the truck slow down, the video feed returns.
Issue#2 - PTBA
The following video shows the activation of PTBA but the video feed is missing. I need to activate "camera mode" by holding the radio button 3 seconds for the camera to display.
Issue#3 - Screen flash transitionning into and out of reverse gear
The following video shows what happens on the screen when I transition the shifting lever into and out of "reverse". You can see on the screen the "flash" that display the logo of the truck with the backup sensors quickly zooming in and out.
Issue#4 - Navigation
The following video shows the problem that occurs with navigation when the module is activated. For this particular sequence, I've disconnected the side camera so that the screen would not display anything so that I could properly demonstrate what happens to the GPS or compass or navigation system when I active the turn signal which active the module...
00:00 - Normal navigation operation on highway
00:25 - Turn signal activated. Look what happens... (Just to be clear, I was going about 100Km/h, so I did not go into reverse as the navigation shows...
)
00:50 - Turn signal off. Navigation is lost...
01:38 - Navigation snaps back on track

How did you wire the power to the camera ? Did you use the power output coming from the camera-source module ? If so, this power is only active when the module is active, so for a DVR application, you'll need to rewire the cameras to a ignition or accessory power source...
Sorry if you already knew that...

I think something is just unplugged.
According to camera-source, this is how it is designed to work. It would be nice if all cameras plugged into the module were included in manual activation.
If you are talking about manual activation. The side cameras are not included in the manual activation view cycle with the other cams.

"Manual mode" should have precedence over anything "automatic".
