Hi @Lurch96,

When I first found out that the navigation was way off after returning from a turn signal camera or manual mode activation, I wanted to find a way to try to understand what was happening...

Since I have not permanently installed the camera it was easy to plug and unplug any of them.

So I tried to unplug the RCA connectors of the side camera but I left the module with the dip switch for them active.

And what I found out, you can see in the video posted above...

With the camera on, the screen change to the side views and then returned but the GPS was way off...

Without the camera on, the screen stays in its current state because no video feed is present and I could then "see", in real-time, what was happening in the navigation/gps/compass with the module active...

I just hope that this helps camera-source diagnose the problem...

I'll try to take the module off next weekend and see if everything go back to normal.

I can confirm that the video feed can be split and sent to a DVR. I'm not impressed with the recording quality of the DVR I have now (a generic one I ordered from supercircuits.com), so if anyone knows of any mini DVRs please recommend them. The camera-source.com video quality is great, I just need a DVR that can record at the same quality.

Hi Everybody,

I took out the module and cable harness this afternoon. I did not "unprogrammed" the module from the truck. I just removed it and connected everything back to normal.

Navigation is back to normal. No more weird behaviour with the compass and/or gps with turn signals or backup camera.

Shifting into and out of "reverse" is also back to normal. No more weird looking popup screen.

I also transferred this info back to Chris at camera-source.

I really hope that camera-source will be able to find a solution for these issues.

Guys,

I installed my sync 3 nav system temporarily and reconnected everything from this kit. I can confirm the issues are replicated. I cant manually switch to rear camera at anything over 10 or so mph, and the navigation went psycho (it was hilarious to watch though).

I think its definitely an issue with how the camera module talks to sync 3. I yanked the sync 3 system out and reinstalled my OE sync 2, and everything works normally as initially reported.

Hope Chris' guys can come up with a firmware update to fix these issues.

Hey ajean
When I have some time I will try this to see if it will correct the no rear cam in manual activation while in motion, which is the only issue I have. I can live with it if it doesn't work, but just to give it a shot and see. Did you have to do the programming sequence again after re-installing? Or did it remember the programing.

Hi @carrierj,

Yesterday I just removed the module and harness and put everything back together just as it was before I installed anything.

I did not reinstall the module so far. I'm actually running the truck without the camera-source module.

When I took out the module, I did not unprogrammed it. My guess is that the module is still programmed to my truck and when I put it back, it should work directly.

Did I answer your question correctly ? (I may have misunderstood...)

Ah. I see, you're not using the camera module at all. I assumed you did a "reboot" of some sort by uninstalling and reinstalling.

No, I just removed the module completely. The GPS issues were too much intriguing. I wanted to see if those were related or not with the camera-source module.

And since with the module off everything works ok, then the problems are indeed coming from the CS module.

Yeah that's too bad. Seems to be more of a Sync 3 issue, as TF discovered in his testing.

Hopefully they will have a fix for the issues that can be updated with a module re-flash.

Thanks to all for the reports and the software engineer has apparently found a possible issue affecting our integration functionality with SYNC 3 and is fixing the firmware. I'll keep you posted on his progress but we should have something in the next week or two.

In the mean-time he also mentioned to try the opposite dip setting in the configuration to get the camera to work above 7mph. Anyone want to test this please?

IMPORTANT: when you make dip setting changes the module must be unplugged from the vehicle or they won't stick. Please unplug the module, make the dip change, then plug the module back in.

Thanks and be back to you soon with progress.

Regards,
Chris
