I thought there was a programming procedure that was done after the components were installed, but I can't locate the original instructions. I thought maybe if I tried that programming procedure it may come back
Hi,
Chris is traveling so I'm not sure when he'll see your post. I sent you an email yesterday with the original install instructions for the module. Please keep me posted. I'll do my best to help!
Thanks,
Tricia

Last week was the SEMA show in Las Vegas so the entire Rostra engineering team was there. I would suspect they will be catching up on support calls this week but if you don't hear back from them today give them another call. Hopefully you will get the info you need from the instructions and all will be good!

Thanks,
Chris

I finally got this issue resolved, thanks to Tricia and the folks at camera-source. After talking with tech support at Rostra they determined that my module needed to be replaced and was under warranty. They sent me the new model which is compatible with Sync 3 version 3 and below. This enabled me to update my Sync 3 from 2.2 to version 3 then install the new camera module, which was very simple to swap out for the old model and is much more improved also. It uses a steering wheel button to activate the cameras on demand instead of the old model with a toggle button. You simply hold the voice command button for 3 seconds to get to the setup screen for the camera system, then push a button on the screen for the cameras or settings. Still has the HDMI port to mirror the phone screen to the Sync 3, which works great. I'm going to add a third brake light camera in addition to the front and side cameras.

Hello, after installing the new updated 250-8455 module, does Android Auto/Apple Car Play still work? I'm looking into doing this (probably go with whatever company Camera Source is using now) but just in case I do go with Rostra I want to make sure it will still work.

Thanks
Dan

I would assume that it does, however I don't use Carplay (I have an Iphone) I can plug it in and check it out tomorrow and report back. I do know that the phone screen mirroring does work with the HDMI port.

That would be great. Thank you! If Apple Car play stills works, Android-Auto will too.
Again, thanks

Actually have one more question. Does the surround view work? Meaning does it show a picture that looks like it was taken above the truck so you can see call sides?

Thanks
Dan

No, that was never a possibility for this after market system. The 360 camera system is OEM, however that can be added. There is a thread on here with a good write-up, several here have done it.
