To all the guys needing the heated seats with this bezel swap. The heat pad wiring is in the back of the seat, easily accessible by unzipping the back panel. Unplug it and run the hot thru a switch and ground to the other wire. Put the switch on the side of the seat like the old days. You will only have one heat setting but better than nothing and a whole lot easier than designing a circuit board and logic to warm your butt.

Default Nice!

do you know what setting it’ll be on? Hottest I’d assume?

Yes I would assume so as the pad is getting max voltage. It is only like 16 Ga. wires going to the pad so it can't be drawing much power.

dual temp heated switches are available so you can still have high/low/off

The switch won't make it hi/lo unless it has a built in resistor. Most switches don't.

anyone have a wire schematic for stock heated seat? there are dual zone heated seat switches available but most require a dual zone heated seat.... meaning resistance would need to be at seat, not switch. a schematic would be helpful to finger it out.

Look it up in Ford parts. It only has 2 wires going to it. I doubt they built a controller into the pad. I bet they have the voltage regulated before it gets there. I have the XLT bezel in mine yet so I will check the input voltages later today.

Big Fail on that idea. I tested the input voltage with the heater plug removed. It is 14V on high, medium and low. If I connect the plug to the heater it is 5.2 V on all settings. Must be more to it than just a heat pad. So just sending it 12V may not work. I don't have any decent test equip. where my truck is but if I can find some clips I will connect a battery to the seat heater and see what happens.
