Best things about it are: retained setting when command started, fans work at the same time as heat.

I only wish I had planned this better, as I could have transferred the 302a bezel and heated seat in my other truck. But I already did a heated seat kit in that one. I will now additionally be installing a cooled seat kit to compliment those heated seats in that truck (the 2019)
What kit on Amazon?

I am interested too. What part #'s did you order for the Lariat seat covers and how much. And which Amazon kit did you get?

Thanx

Here are a couple of links:
Seat leather:
OEM Lariat Leather

Seat cooler heater:

Heated / Cooled Seat Kit Heated / Cooled Seat Kit

I figured this solves all the issues for a reasonable price. The idea of getting complete lariat from seats doesn't solve the controls issues, and doesn't get matching rears. As i see it this solves all issues and gets a better seat option overall front and rear.

Hijack complete lol

You said you used these before? Isn't it uncomfortable sitting on the fans?

I would imagine so, but keep in mind those pics may be cut out for viewing reference. Could not know for sure without looking at instructions but.... stock seat skins are ventilated when seats come heated/cooled. I imagine foam may be more porous as well, so if these are sold to add to stock without changing skins or foam, then the picture may be accurate and your question valid.

I want to add heated rear, so I am looking for stock lariat and up seating, which are plentiful if I wanted cloth..... which I do not.

I know I can swap out my fronts as well and probably get away with it just by changing out the front harness to seat harness harness, but the leather front seat set is rather pricey, and you cant touch them shipped reasonable. Still searching local salvage yards every now and then.... eventually I will find a set.

There are a handful of all leather king ranch sets on fleabay but shipped are 2500 and up. Considering the $$ I have already put into the mods for truck, that's a bit more than I am willing to go. It would put my total mods cost above what I could have purchased a Lariat for!

2 reasons I MOD are:
1. I enjoy it
2. to get the same OEM comfort and options as higher models without paying higher model price....

To poster of the amazon purchase.... if you have done seat cover replacement and are comfortable, then great, if not you may want to find some youtube videos of the process to ensure it is what you want to get into. only other thing I can think of is purchase a second set of foam for your seating, so if you trash yours doing this install, you can fix the issue. used XLT seats are reasonable and probably much cheaper than buying new foam, unless you can find stock seat foam on the cheap.

I replaced the leather seat bottom on my 13 MKT. took me quite a bit of time and was a PITA but definitely doable. main takeaway I got from the replacement remove seat completely from vehicle. separate back and bottom then do your work.

most modern seat covering is just that, "covering" all held into place with little hooks that in many places attach to a bead molded into the foam. It is very easy to tear that molding away from the foam when trying to unlatch these hooks, so slow and careful.

The fans go under the air distribution plate, I will likely install them on the underside of the seat and the rear of the seat back. I can’t see how I would even feel them, the only concern might be the voids, bit I don’t have a sensitive ***, so I’m not too worried.

Please start a new thread about this mod when you do it. I am very interested to see how you make out. Thanx

Default New thread.

I was thinking the same thing. We should make a group chat on Facebook or something so we could be more helpful

Default Agreed

Gotta I absolutely detest Fakebook and avoid it.

I’ll create a new thread for specifics regardin the seats and put a link in here when it’s ready. It’s relevant here as it seems to be the only ongoing impediment to the auto climate mod.
