Default I need to ask you guys something about this

Hi from Germany—I bought a 2018 XLT and want to install the Automatic Single Zone system instead of the original manual one. I’ve replaced the control panel but am having trouble with the coding in Forscan.

You all say you’ve adjusted this in Forscan, but no one has posted the actual codes.
Please, please help me with the adjustments in Forscan. I need to get this working because I use the car every day, and I’ve already installed the new trim from a 2018 model with automatic climate control, but of course it doesn’t work without the adjustment, and I’m freezing in the car.

I’ll just mention everyone by name who seems to have successfully made the adjustment.

"hopefully"

Hello

Based on my research, the entire system—including temperature and fan control—should work.

I’ve read hundreds of replies, but not a single one from someone who’s successfully implemented this and provided the codes that need to be adjusted in Forscan.

I’m going crazy—I replaced the cover, but without the right codes, it’s all for nothing, unfortunately.

I replaced the bezel with a dual-zone automatic from a 2018 model and have been trying for days to adjust the configuration in the FCIM module accordingly so that I get a working single-zone automatic.

I have tried many different coding attempts, but without success.

I can't find any help here in Germany, so I'm glad to have found your post.

My attempts to find a solution via various AIs have all been unsuccessful.

Perplexity has now recommended that I obtain an FCIM configuration read from a 2018XLT and compare it with mine.

Can someone please, please, please read these settings from a

2018 XLT, single-zone-automatic and send them to me?

I'm afraid I won't be able to proceed without such sample data.

However, if you can name other sources where I can find the unique codes, I would be grateful for any information.

In your post, I noticed that it then mainly focuses on the problems with the seat heating – that's not my problem for now, as I only have the simplest seats without any electrical functions installed.

Thank you very much for your efforts and help in any form, Ron

It has been awhile since I did this successfully to my 2017 XLT 302a option package truck but I think it should be similar. I believe you should be making changes in APIM. I also downloaded latest FCIM and APIM software updates when I completed the mod. Good luck.

Hi @gwise06

Thanks for the link—as a German, I had no idea about this table—that’s crazy!

I think my mistake so far has been that I’ve always tried to program the FCIM, even though the APIM is actually responsible. I figured the signals come from the FCIM anyway and only the display is handled by the APIM—which I don’t need.
Was that a mistake on my part? What do you think?

Right now, I don’t have APIM available because a 14" display is installed—I’m going to take everything apart today and use the original Sync to check if the automatic function works then.

As soon as the weather gets nicer, I’ll try to get it working with the big display.

Thanks so much for the help!
I’ll check back in when I have any updates.
