They keep building til they come to a resolution to the problem. Once a resolution is resolved it is applied to the assembly process to prevent a even bigger clutter to the "graveyard ". The factory don't know what vehicles are special orders, they just see it like another order from a dealer.
My exact words. Ford applies the parts to the assembly line first. I placed my order on 9/4 (who here ordered earlier??) and delivery is TBD. If I would have placed it 2 months latter I would have my truck. I also have a $1k coupon that expires very shortly which only ads to my frustration with Ford. I posted my window sticker earlier $64k and change for a half ton. Wow!!! I shouldn't have to go through this. Ford I hope you are browsing this forum. PM fast or our 20 year relationship may come to end very shortly...........

Im sure this is nothing that can be predicted. Faulty parts or suppler shortage is usually an issue that is abrupt (IMO). My interior is black and the Lariat Leather... which may explain why XLT's and such are coming out too.. Platinum seats are different as well. I have yet to see a Lariat on the lots by me. Lets just hope this gets resolved quickly.
I test drove the 2016 502A Lariat this morning.
The seats heated up slowly.
When I switched over both seats to max cool the seat bottoms cooled and the seat backs didn't cool.
My 2013 Lariat put the new car to shame. I can actually feel the air blowing through my perforated leather. Not so on Ford's latest product.
I took a photo of the undersides of both front seats. I suspect the mesh section in the middle is the snorkel other posters have discussed.
On a separate note, the inflatable lumber support is way too prominent in it's most deflated setting. I feel like my lower back is being forced into an unnatural curve.
Extremely uncomfortable, IMO.

Movement!
Received word today from Customer Service that the truck has finally updated to "in transit". New ETA is 12/11 (5+ weeks after original of 11/4). They indicated they are still trying to find out what caused the delay but no word yet. Amazes me they can't find out and Ford can't be a little more upfront with customers. Hope the December incentives are good. Already had X-plan as a stockholder.

Better pics to follow, pulled into the nearest parking lot to snap a few quick phone pics in fading new england daylight. (and to program my radio stations)
Yes I did "drive by's" almost hourly all weekend, sorry to hear the upper models are a bit delayed. hang in there! You will not be disappointed. Are there things I would like to see improved? Sure. Not sure who mentioned it but I will attest the rear doors do NOT close on the first attempt almost ever. Needs a good slam. First world problems folks. I spent the day watching CNN and got a good reset on how relevant my bitches in life are right now. lol. Enjoy your rigs!!!

Yep. Back in the winter of 2010 I ordered a 2011 F150 ecoboost. These were the first one's produced. Mine and a whole lot full sit outside in the Michigan weather until Ford came up with a fix to whatever the problem was (we never found out). Someone on the forum drove by the factory and said that they had a bunch of those pop up canopies out in the yard and they were working on the trucks. I finally received my truck in March. It was a wet, snowy winter and the differential, driveshafts, springs and nearly everything underneath was rusted when I got it. I complained and was told that this was normal. I told the service manager to come outside and take a look at my 2005 F250 which did not have a speck of rust on it.
Sorry for the long story but the point is as "fordworker" said, it is normal for Ford to do this, for if they let all of these trucks go with a problem they would have to recall all of them which would cost more than holding them and fixing them at the factory.

That's what I'm worried about. Since they aren't giving any sort of status updates on our trucks, we have no idea how long this could be. Dealers always say "soon"; but they seem to completely clueless as well. It may end up being March for us.... we have no way of knowing. Uhhhhhhgggg

Won't be March for me. Found a dealer about 5 hours away that has a truck just like I ordered. It was built 11/11 is in transit they think they will have it in another 2 weeks or so. I may just end up buying it instead.
