My dealer has 3 KR's and a pile of XLTs on the lot right now. No platinums, or mine.
Apparently mine is still 2.5 hours away.

You are not being I d**k. I don't know about you but I hate being lied to. If they don't know WTF is going on I would rather have them tell that than lie to me. Check out this email I got today out of the blue from my dealer:
"I wanted to say hi and hope that you are doing well. I have some news for you on the order unit. The unit its it's final stage in the factory. Ford will not deliver the 2016 Ford F-150 pick up Truck units, until the first month of 2016 this is something that we don't have any control over. I will keep you posted but I can tell you that your truck will be one of the first delivered to Nevada. If you have any questions you can always call me or -------. I hope you are doing well."
Total bull****. There are 2 others in listed in inventory at another dealer, hell they even show a few xlt's on their own lot!!!
I blanked out the 2nd name because he is the manager and has actually been pretty good to me. I travel between here Phoenix and southern CA a lot so if I find another one I like then they can keep this order. I really hate the lies! At this point I may go drive the Ram Limited and see if I like it.

I think the problem for Ford is that they don't know how to fix the allocation system with regards to the "buyer initiated" factory orders. Ford knows that if they change the current system that the Dealers will cheat and make orders claiming that it is "buyer initiated".

I received my VIN about 10 days after order was placed.
Just got off the phone with Sales guy, truck is expected to be here next week, then tires and spray in liner done. So hopefully by the end of the month Ill be driving her!!

As a number of other people from the western half of our great nation have reported that their trucks were in transit, plus KC spun up either this week or last, Vegas I must join you in calling shenanigans on that "we won't see any trucks till 2016". If you were in Canada, Alaska or Hawaii, I might buy that, but not in the 48.
... best part about today ... a nearly identical KR to the one I ordered and had built on 10/21 showed up on my dealers lot today. The only differences were no technology package, no moon roof and no box side steps and it was built on 11/09... When my sales guy sent me a text to tell me about it, I just had to shake my head. We've now moved into the realm of the ridiculous.
Makes me wonder if something stupid like the box side steps are holding it up like the wheel well liners did to some of the early 2015 builds...
