My dealer has NO IDEA what's going on with my truck. None. Zero. Zilch.

I've gotten the same run around that SP has from them. I don't think it is intentional, per se, I honestly believe they simply don't have a clue and either can't or won't reach out to someone at Ford to ask the obvious question, which is, "WTF is up with this customer's truck and why has it been sitting at the plant for almost a month?"

At the rate they seem to be turning these orders around, I almost feel like I'd get my truck quicker if I just cancelled the order and placed it again...
Me too! Was just thinking about doing this again today!

Update from Chad. Mine is "in transit". Window sticker says RAIL. Going to bison ford in Montana from Dearborn.. Built 11/10/2015 according to etis. Must be something with the earlier builds? Or some common shipping line problem?

You may not have to. I just checked tonight and another local dealer shows 2 2016 Platinums in inventory. The dealers are starting to get them in.

You are not being I d**k. I don't know about you but I hate being lied to. If they don't know WTF is going on I would rather have them tell that than lie to me. Check out this email I got today out of the blue from my dealer:

"I wanted to say hi and hope that you are doing well. I have some news for you on the order unit. The unit its it's final stage in the factory. Ford will not deliver the 2016 Ford F-150 pick up Truck units, until the first month of 2016 this is something that we don't have any control over. I will keep you posted but I can tell you that your truck will be one of the first delivered to Nevada. If you have any questions you can always call me or -------. I hope you are doing well."

Total bull****. There are 2 others in listed in inventory at another dealer, hell they even show a few xlt's on their own lot!!!

I blanked out the 2nd name because he is the manager and has actually been pretty good to me. I travel between here Phoenix and southern CA a lot so if I find another one I like then they can keep this order. I really hate the lies! At this point I may go drive the Ram Limited and see if I like it.

I'm beginning to think that this has more to do with Dealer Allocation and the Dealer's current inventory of 2015's than anything else. It's the only thing that makes sense. For those that are just waiting for delivery, I just can't figure out why Ford would even build the Truck if they weren't going to immediately ship it out. But for those that haven't been built this would makes sense

Unless the truck is on the dealer lot with a real picture (not a render) then it hasn't arrived, just allocated. Ford needs to develop a better system. These trucks are ALREADY SOLD, if there is a possibility of the truck arriving in 4 weeks, then they should. More money is better ford, do you not get that?

I think the problem for Ford is that they don't know how to fix the allocation system with regards to the "buyer initiated" factory orders. Ford knows that if they change the current system that the Dealers will cheat and make orders claiming that it is "buyer initiated".

For the record here, I have only seen 2016 XLT's on my dealer's lot. One two tone showed up and I thought it was a KR but it was a late produced 2015. So my 2016 Lariat is the first I have seen on the lot last night and I was there every Sunday "stalking" the lot a friend told me.

They are at the lot, at least the 2 Platinums. I couldn't find the xl's and xlt's but they may have been fleet orders which would be on a different lot.
