6k for a tinge of blue, 4300k or 5k for pure white, 3k for yellow. If you go bluer than 6k you're looking at major cop attention.

All just depends on what style you're wanting. If you want pure white, 6k's are perfect. Slight hint of blue, 8k's. Want a little more blue/white mix, 10k's. And usually 12k's are pure blue. Mine are 10k's and have some blue to them, but they work well except the high beams on without fogs look dimmer than the lows on with fogs.

10k's for a while now, not a single law problem. It's not the headlights that get you in trouble, it's driving like a jackass along with the headlights that get people in trouble.

that's a good call! take it from me though, spend a little extra to get a quality kit. Buy cheapo's and you'll be replacing s****y ballasts faster than you can blink.

This is the one I was going to get:
http://www.hidkits.net/kits/xtreme-v...conversion-kit

Comes out to $215, after the 50watt ballasts

Found another 1 at http://www.ultimatehidkits.com/order.php only $194. Which would you guy buy if you were going to buy one?

I just went for the 6k to get less attention and more light output than the 8k or bluer

yeah I agree they give more light output than 8k or higher and give you less attention, but people who think the lights are the reason they get pulled over don't realize its cause of their driving. If you have lights that bring attention to you, its smartest not to drive like an idiot lol.

True. Then they're just lookin for ways to bone you! Luckily for me I've never been one to drive like an idiot. I'm 19 and am lucky enough to be on my parents insurance 'cause it looks downright affordable (still way too much) compared to if I had my own policy.

But I digress.

And here's my lights from 20-25ish feet on my garage door. My driveway slopes upwards a little from the road to the door, so they look a little higher than they really are, but not by much. Crappy cell phone pics, so it really only picks up the bright spots.

Here's the lows, you can see the scatter and how it's not very focused. It lights up everything like 2 massive flood lights

And here are the highs. They're the ones I drive around with on because they are more focused and as you can easily see here, the bulk of the light is lower than the low beams because of the stock housing

Once again, sorry my phone doesn't capture how they really look, it sucks so bad at light/dark transitions

Just a heads up for you guys deciding between which color to choose. The factory 65w halogen high beam puts out about 1700 lumens of light. 4300k HID is about 3300 lumens. 5000k is about 2900-3000 lumens. 6000k = 2400 lumens. 8000k = 2100 lumens and by 10,000k you are about the same output as halogen. The blue color hurts performance in weather and glare sucks in the rain, so the real blue HIDs are in fact worse than factory halogen. Stick to 5000k or so.
