Peragon Truck Bed Cover Group Buy
Got the cover last weekend and got it installed. I am very happy with the look. Issue I am having right now is when I close the cover it tends to stick and is hard to pull closed. I called tech support and Roger was very helpfully. Went through and remeasured and everything and ensured the rails were even and parallel to the bed. I went and readjusted the rails, but I think there may be something I am missing. Any else run into this problem or idea of what I maybe doing wrong. Thanks
Have you tried rolling the cover back and forth with the gas springs removed yet? That can be a good way to check for the feel in the rails without the pressure from the gas springs masking the "feel".
Normally if the cover is stiff, I'd add an extra washer or two between the rails and the rear brackets. If the rails are spaced up off the bed so they "float" above the bed, it helps.
Mark's suggestion to loose the mounting bolts and then try operating the cover is a good one. Just loosen the rear bolts - the front of the frame is rarely the issue.
With the rear bolts loose, try pulling the cover closed, then bring the rails in so they just about touch the rear rollers, then center the rails side-to-side and retighten them.
The cover should move smoothly without binding, but there will be some friction as the cover slides against the seals. It is normal to have to feed the cover forward, but it should be easily done with one hand.
I hope that helps. If you're still not happy with the operation, please let us know and we'll take whatever time needed to assist.

Dobs,
I had a similar problem to yours and Rodger was able to get it fixed for me. If you want to know what fixed it, please feel free to PM me here or I can reply in this thread later today when I have more free time. It's a very simple fix to help it clear the struts and gives it the 1/4" or so that I needed on each side to clear it.

Please share the process. Thanks.

I certainly hope Peragon is ok with me posting this since it was information given to me directly by them. I see no issue with doing this and it gave me the clearance I needed to get past the strut bodies when the rollers go past them.
It just involves relocating the two small brackets. The bracket on each side that is the upper mount for the strut itself where it attaches to the cover. The directions instruct you to mount that bracket on the INSIDE of the cover itself. If you simply move it to the OUTSIDE of the cover, you have additional clearance of the width of the aluminum of the cover to work with. It may only be 1/8"-1/4" on each side, but once you do that, then you can go a bit further and make adjustments to the lower mounts.
The way I figured out the right position of the lower mount is to adjust them out as far as you can while still having the full width of the wheels/rollers touching the rails as they roll up to close. Just be sure it covers the wheel entirely.
Once you have adjusted the lower mounts that way and moving the upper mounts out a bit, they should clear the struts no problem. You are effectively moving the lower mount out further and the upper mount out further as well on each side without sacrificing how the cover performs and works.
After a lot of trial and error this is the method that worked best for me and have allowed everything to operate smoothly and without bumping the struts as it opens. If anything it actually opens a bit too smoothly and too fast now and sometimes slaps against itself if you don't catch it as you open it. Not a bad problem to have

I installed my Peragon cover today. 3 hours from opening the first box to sweeping out the bed and closing the tailgate.
I'd say I'm about 90% complete. I'd like to make some minor adjustments.
I can't get the cover to completely open up without the wheels hitting the gas shocks though I'm sure a little adjustment may help me out...
I ran out of time, but it's in and locks and unlocks and looks real good!
I found this adjustable crossbar at Home Depot that I put in to keep things from sliding too far forward that would impede the opening of the cover. It can be taken out in about 20 seconds if needed.
I'm real pleased and will recommend it to others.
ETA: It opens completely...its just the last 3-4 inches where the panels hit the gas tubes...its hard to explain...guess I should take a picture...

themandan40,
If you read my post just a few above yours, you will see my instructions on how to get your cover to avoid hitting the shocks. It's pretty simple and easy once you get it figured out.
