Yeah, coooool!

0° F is the minimum acceptable temp for long-term storage. I'm a few degrees below that.

I put that thermometer in a list, Brew. Thanks. Maybe I'll buy it in a few years.

EDIT: Or sooner? Looks like Ambient Weather is charging double+ to have their name on it.

I'm sitting in front of the fireplace. Just came in a bit ago from putting the t-case motor on the Explorer. Had to clear the codes in the GEM, but it's back to shifting again.

You have to start out with it in Low, and it was a real 8!tc4 to turn that little guy with frozen fingers. I wound up pulling the gear out of the original motor to get better leverage.

EDIT: Pic of the gear I pilfered from the old shift motor.

I put a fire in the wood stove this morning. Furnace was running, but it was only 60° in the house. Went to check the t-stat and the screen was blank. Turned off the power, pulled the t-stat off the wall, lit a fire and finished my breakfast. A little bit later I checked power, etc., then plugged things back in and fired it up. T-stat display came up like nothing was ever wrong. Weirdness.

I am going to be replacing it this weekend, but as usual, just wanted to ask if there are any surprises or is it straight forward? Also, what would the negatives be if i have been driving around with it like this if any?
So you're aware. Should be a 195 series....so 192-196* is spec. That's 195 series. Been that way for many Ford generation V8's.

Try a 180 and these things will freak....just letting you know. If you do, you don't need a motor....it's freaking the nasty due to the incorrect stat.

LOL

Wong Stat = Gremlin potty for sure.

Stat sensitive, they don't always like new ones either. Even if it is the Motorcraft 123456. That stat doesn't always open up when new...unless they're boiled on the stove first lol.

Frozen, I don't get it. Looks like a nice heater you have out there. I'd have that thing on a switch...on my phone even.. Roll some old carpet out like Phil does lol. I think that's for the dogs though.

The garage has Fox Body's in it. The Explorer was outside because I had to wait for parts. So... that's where I did this job.

EDIT: I did lay on my anti-fatigue mat though

Every so often it's happened here as well. Resetting is built in with mine, you shut it off , light goes out in 5 seconds. Turn it back on, it's reset w/o erasing you're original settings...can't totally trust it because of that.
